K9 Training & Quality Manager, Iraq

Project: Regional Management Team
Position: K9 Training & Quality Manager
Rotation: 8 weeks on, 4 weeks off subject to operational requirements

Role Requirements
Must hold, or be able to attain, valid and appropriate NASDU or UNOPS EDD Quality Standards (QS) qualifications to allow the training and certification of EDD and other forms of detection dog teams to NASDU or UNOPS EDD Quality Standards (QS) standards.
Not more than five (5) years of tactical inactivity in this field.
Must have at least five (5) years of canine handling experience.
Must have at least one (1) year experience as a narcotics, explosives, or special detection handler.
Must have a thorough knowledge of the standards for transporting, kennelling, feeding, breeding and maintenance of healthcare for K9 assets.
Should be able to conduct practical and theoretical lessons and assessments, using all appropriate training aids and methods of instruction (e.g. MS PPT).
Currently qualified or must be capable of passing firearms testing on the Glock 19 pistol, M4 carbine and AK-47 assault rifle.
Must be comfortable working in a multi-cultural/multi-racial environment.
Computer literate with Microsoft Office programs.
Physically fit and in good health

Services

Services provided by the Contractor shall be those typically expected for someone in the Position and include, but not be limited to the provision of ops support to ensure the safety and security of all client staff and other personnel who come under duty of care of RMT, Baghdad. Services the Contractor can expect to carry out, would include
Managing and supporting the GardaWorld SSME&A programme on behalf of Senior Director, Iraq in support of all regions where K9 assets are deployed.
Act as the GardaWorld functional line manager for regional kennel masters - ensuring all K9 posts are 100% manned with the appropriately qualified staff.
Write, maintain and implement all GardaWorld K9 policies and procedures in co-operation with Director Operations Support.
Ensure that any changes to K9 procedures within the industry are assessed for suitability and implemented across the business with appropriate changes incorporated into policies and procedures.
Carry out K9 auditing activities in order to ensure that standards are maintained across the business. Ensure that corrective action plans are developed following each audit and that those actions identified are closed within a reasonable timeframe.
Oversee the K9 procurement process in support of Senior Manager Procurement / regional procurement leads and carry out QA/QC on the K9 assets upon delivery.
Carry out recruitment activities for K9 related personnel in Iraq, co-operating with Director Operations Support and the relevant regional / country management teams.
Assist in the business development and growth of the K9 business in Iraq, where opportunity arises..
Support and monitor the maintenance of accurate K9 Records, Reports and Statistics across all regions
Any other duties as may reasonably be requested.
Report to Senior Director, Iraq.
Undertaking any other direction or reasonable request given by appropriate GardaWorld Management team in accordance with GW Standard Operating Procedures and Guidelines.
