Job Description
EU national Armed Close Protection Officer (CPO) within a team of armed EU national personnel charged with the protection of the EU Representative Office to the West Bank and Gaza Strip, UNRWA located within Jerusalem, Israel.

2 x positions available with deployment by mid-September 2022.

Profile and specific requirements:
The CPO must have a strong track record as a Close Protection Officer.
Proven experience in international volatile environment of at least 4 years.
He/she, must be experienced in Close Protection Services.
The CPO must have proven experience in the field of Close Protection Services in an international or foreign environment, diplomatic mission or representations of international organizations attested by reference letters from current and/or former employers.
The CPO must have proven experience in working in a Close Protection Team of minimum 15 persons.
Military or police experience.
Proven knowledge of radio equipment and radio operational procedures.
Weapons qualifications and proven knowledge of weapons and related equipment (pistols & assault rifles) as well as operational procedures for weapons.
Proven knowledge of Rules of Engagement, Standard Operating Procedures and Specific Operating Procedures, linked to the use of weapons.
English language level according to, at least, level C2 as defined in the standards available at http://europass.cedefop.europa.eu/en/resources/european-language-levels-cefr
IT-literate in word and excel.
Valid clean criminal record certificate.
Valid clear medical and psychological test.
Valid driving license category C1 or C; and Civilian Armoured Vehicle Driving Course certificate.
Valid Certificate in First Aid, Basic Life Support Level.Knowledge of Arabic will be an asset.
Knowledge of Hebrew will be an asset.
Knowledge of the country's security environment will be an asset.
Valid Certificate in First Aid, Basic Life Support Level.
Knowledge in fire-fighting will be an asset.
Skills in unarmed combat will be an asset.
Skills in tactical medical care will be an asset.

Qualifications

Additional requirements:
Must be EU national. Do not apply if you are a UK national with no dual EU member state nationality
Must be under 182cm tall due to vehicle restrictions.

Close Protection Certificate, showing dates of course undertaken.
Medical qualification certificate (must be in date).
Weapons qualification/certificate (within last 12 months).
Valid clear medical and psychological test (with-in last 6 months)
Military or Police Service record, honourably discharged certificate.
Criminal Record Check (within 6 months).
EN language certificate (for non-EN language natives)
Most recent employer work references, at least two.
