Close Protection Officer , United Kingdom

Role Summary:
The Close Protection Officer (CPO) is responsible for providing close protection to clients and/or principals outside of the United Kingdom.

With the objective to achieve high standards of service delivery throughout the life of short, medium, and long-term projects, this position provides professional service on all aspects of personal security of assigned persons. This position may be as a lone worker or part of a team and will be a deployed role with no remote working. The position reports to the Project Coordinator (PC), Senior Project Coordinator (Senior PCs), Project Manager (PM) and Global Operations Director on key project activities that include:

· Project execution (mobilisation + demobilisation)
· Project delivery (contract deliverables)
· Threat and risk assessments
· QHSE compliance

RMI Project Coordinators will assist with the mobilisation to locations globally and will work closely with CPO’s to ensure the smooth running of projects. The Project Coordinator will be a key point of contact for CPO’s in the field.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to, the following:
▪ Provide close protection to assigned persons (principal)
▪ Utilise proportionate physical intervention measure to protect life
▪ Plan and implement security advance tasks
▪ Perform principal threat and risk assessments
▪ Submit security advance reports prior to principal/travelling party arrival including “attack on principal” (AOP) immediate actions as permitted by deployed environment
▪ Ensure all required route reconnaissance has been performed
▪ Submit principal security plans in a timely manner
▪ Response to medical emergencies
▪ Submit daily and timely situation reports (sitreps) to RMI Operations during deployment
▪ Submit immediate incident reports that negatively impact the principal security plan and follow up details
▪ Daily inspection of vehicle if issued
▪ Coordination of outsourced vendors/assets directly supplying services to RMI and/or Principal for the duration of the deployment – eg. hotel or locally procured drivers/vehicles
▪ Undertaking any other duties which may be requested by the client, RMI Operations for which training and/or an explanation will be provided.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervision of 1 (one) or more other CPO’s maybe required depending on the nature of the project.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Recognised accredited Close Protection Training qualification (UK BTEC Level 3 or international equivalent)
· First Person on Scene Level 3 (FPOS3) first aid qualification
· 3 (three) years’ experience working as a CPO or as part of a CP team
· CP team leadership desirable

COMPUTER SKILLS:
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
· Proficiency in use of G Suite applications
· General computer & technology literacy

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
· Good at prioritising – excellent time management skills required
· Excellent communications skills (written and verbal)
· A good grasp of the English language (spelling and grammar)
· Physically fit and able to carry out the essential functions of the role
· Professional appearance suitable for the role of CPO
· Keen attention to detail
· The ability to show initiative
· Ability to manage a wide range of tasks simultaneously and think clearly under pressure
· A self-starter
· Ability to work alone or as part of a team
· Impeccable discretion and integrity

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
· United Kingdom Security Industry Authority Frontline Close Protection Licence (or international equivalent)
· First Person on Scene Level 3 (FPOS3) first aid qualification
· Recognised accredited Close Protection Training qualification (UK BTEC Level 3 or international equivalent)
· Full and clean UK driving licence (or international licence and international driving permit)

While performing the duties of this job, the contractor is regularly required to stand for long periods of time. The contractor must constantly reach with hands and fingers.
