Description
The Guard Force Commander will supervise the guard force that provides protection to all U.S. mission facilities

Duties:
Prepare guard orders, deploy guards, conduct musters and perform weekly scheduling.
Conduct regular inspections of guards and guard posts and investigate deficiencies.
Maintain inventory reports and investigate any irregularities.
Prepare reports and make recommendations regarding discipline and termination actions.
Oversee guard program logistics including explosive detection and X-ray equipment.
Act as a point of contact with the DOS on operational guard force matters.
Ensure all guards are properly uniformed, equipped and staffed.
Plan, coordinate and lead the LGF during integrated training and emergency response drills with the RSO.
Maintain flexible work schedule, which may include assignment to evening, weekend and holiday periods.



Required Experience:

Minimum ten years’ experience as a non-commissioned officer in the military, police or a similar guard force with proven experience in leadership roles (may be substituted for education).
Minimum five years’ work experience in Brazil.
Proven experience managing/supervising a large staff of guards (about 50-100 guards).
Familiarity with recent trends and specific threats in Brazil.
Experience in all areas of physical security and access control.


Required Knowledge and Skills:

Risk management skills, including problem identification and problem solving.
Must be computer literate to a basic level, that is, able to write basic reports, produce Standard Operational Procedures, and communicate via email.
Must possess advanced security training.


Citizenship, Residency & Language Requirements:

Must be a citizen of Brazil or a U.S. citizen in possession of a valid work visa.
Must speak the local language and have an English language proficiency speaking/reading skill level S4/R4 (advanced) using the ILR language scale ( https://govtilr.org/Skills/ILRscale2.htm ).
Must hold a Brazil driver’s license.

Required Education:

The GFC shall have completed secondary education, poly-technical school or obtained a national diploma or Associate’s degree.
