Description:
Coinbase is evolving our Executive Protection program. We are designing a hybrid Full-Time Employee (FTE)/contractor model. As part of this, we are looking to onboard two EP Leads focused on co-managing a dynamic team assigned to a specific executive. In this role you’ll be charged with being the primary point of contact for your Principals when on-duty, manage the daily operations of a contract residential securityteam, provide logistical support and field protective operations when in public (including travel), and ensure the seamless execution of all functions of the program under you. Reporting to the EP Program Manager, you will be supported by Coinbase’s in-house Global Security Operations Centers and Protective Intelligence team. You will be empowered to assess the needs of the Principals and apply your experience to help craft a program that maximizes safety and privacy.

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):
Serve as an Executive Protection Lead, fostering an environment that maximizes Principal privacy
Establish and enforce the Kissinger method of Executive Protection, close enough to protect, but not so close that you have to be introduced. Travel domestically and internationally, leading protection operations
Make Executive Protection team assignments to ensure efficient execution of duties
Conduct Advances for travel and events
Make contingency and logistical plans for complex travel
Create and report on success metrics, incident reports, After Action Reviews, training and maintenance schedules, and Principal communications
Assess and evaluate embedded EP contractors for operational fit and ongoing quality assurance
Managing a contract Residential Security Team
Work collaboratively with Executive Assistants, Personal Assistants, Chiefs of Staff, Estate Staff and various other Coinbase Security teams
Recommend standard operating procedures to Security Management and implement approved plans

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

Executive Protection Lead Operator Experience:
Experience operating as the responsible individual of an operation, including managing others to achieve outcomes
Minimum 8-10 years of multidisciplinary Executive Protection experience, with 7+ years extensive OCONUS operational experience
Ability to manage complex logistics and ambiguous situations with little to no impact on Principals
Medical training beyond First Aid and CPR (EMT, TCCC, etc.)
Understand and demonstrate expertise in protection concepts to include: risk mitigation, risk assessments, contingency planning, surveillance detection and counter-surveillance
Self-motivated, ability to work without direct supervision, and understand security concepts and theories. Adept at identifying and managing vendors for CONUS and OCONUS operations
Strong leadership and decision making skills
Strong command of EP field related technology apps
Soft skills and strong understanding of the customer service side of private sector Executive Protection
Strong collaborative skills, as this role interfaces with Estate and Corporate Principal staff
Ability to build equity and earn trust with key stakeholders, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Demonstrated ability to promote a discrete operational coverage model that interfaces with Principals only as needed and understands the expectation to maintain clear professional boundaries
Subject Matter Expertise in Advance operations
Tactical driving skills, applied with a chauffeur’s approach

Remote wilderness first aid
Strong administrative skills
Familiarity with Meet, G Suite, Slack
