Introduction
We are looking for exceptional and experienced candidates to assist in managing its growing Security Information Services (SIS) department in Nairobi, Kenya. The SIS department produces subscription-based and focused assessments to give our clients in East Africa a comprehensive understanding of the political and security environments in which they operate. These products include alerts, weeklies, monthlies and bespoke reporting such as journey threat assessment and security risk assessments.

Job Description
As an Associate/Senior Associate, you will have direct managerial responsibility for analysts in Nairobi. This will entail overseeing both their professional development and case managing a variety of challenging and time-sensitive projects across a range of countries in East Africa.

In case managing analysts’ work, the successful candidate will display excellent attention to detail, astute people management and communication skills, and thorough investment in others’ professional development. Beyond reporting, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute suggestions for product, team and business development. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to liaise directly with clients and should have strong oral and presentational skills.

Qualifications, Experience and Qualities
Applicants require the following competencies:At least four years’ experience in a relevant position within the political and country risk sector, or within a complementary sector, such as global consultancies, government, NGOs, or civil society focused specifically on Kenya and East Africa.
Demonstrable experience managing a team and complex research projects;
Proven client engagement skills, either in the form of proposal writing or presentation skills.
Impeccable written and spoken English with a high standard in report editing and attention to detail. Ability to compile standard security risks products.
A postgraduate qualification and a strong academic record, averaging 65 percent and above in a relevant degree – such as political science, international relations, intelligence, criminal investigations, or strategic studies etc.
Experience of living and/or working in East Africa is preferred but not essential;
Fluency in a non-English language is preferred but not essential; and,
Applicants should have the ability to work with little supervision, to tight deadlines and be willing to work overtime when required to meet client requests.

Candidates must be eligible to work in Nairobi, Kenya.
