Job Description
We are looking for experienced Nigeria/West Africa/Sahel-focused political and security risk analysts to join its Security Information Services (SIS) team in Lagos, Nigeria. Our SIS team provides a wide variety of risk reporting, including subscription-based reporting for clients (such as alerts, weeklies, and monthlies) as well as bespoke reporting, such as journey threat assessments and security risk assessments for project sites. Such analysts would be responsible for producing such reports focused on Nigeria, West Africa, and the Sahel.
Analysts will, therefore, work on a variety of products within the SIS team. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work on verbal briefings and engage with clients. Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will need to have the following competencies: Two to three years’ professional experience in a similar role either within the public, private or civil society sector.
A postgraduate qualification and a strong academic record, averaging 65 percent and above in a relevant degree – such as political science, international relations, intelligence, criminal investigations, strategic studies.
A demonstrated knowledge of political and security issues facing Nigeria/wider West Africa/Sahel.
Excellence in research, writing and analytical techniques.
Efficient time management skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
Excellent written and spoken English.
The ability to work autonomously and with little supervision.
Candidates must be eligible to work in Nigeria.
