The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Security Humanitarian Specialist who wants to help people harness their own power to achieve a feminist, just, green transition in the 45 countries where ActionAid works.

You will provide humanitarian operational safety and security to slow and rapid onset humanitarian emergencies in line with ActionAid’s global staff safety and security policy and external safety and security policies and best practice. You will support the operational delivery and coordination of humanitarian operational safety and security for larger scale Red and Orange Alert level emergency responses as well as pro-actively work with ActionAid countries and partners to strengthen humanitarian operational safety and security in protracted / smaller scale crisis.

Who we're looking for:

With substantial security operational and management experience in a similar role, preferably in a multi-country setting, you should also have demonstratable experience of having worked in conflict environments, protracted- and sudden onset crisis. You should have experience in external engagements, networking and working with the wider security sector. You should be comfortable to develop and monitor operational safety and security budgets and have experience of building capacity of individuals and teams in safety and security management processes.

You should also have strong commitment to ActionAid’s values and ethos, including ActionAid’s feminist leadership principles.

You should further have strong influencing and negotiating skills with a variety of actors in complex and stressful circumstances. You should have excellent communication, reporting and interpersonal skills (written and oral), together with the capacity to remain calm under pressure and not lose sight of strategic priorities.
