Description: 
The HALO Trust (HALO) is seeking an Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) Lead to support the delivery of appropriate EORE messaging for civilians affected by the conflict in Ukraine. The role will be based in Rzeszow (Poland) and Lviv (Ukraine).

The EORE Lead will help HALO deliver accurate, contextually appropriate and timely EORE messaging in coordination with the wider humanitarian sector, and in line with International Mine Action Standard 12.10.

The EORE lead will liaise closely with HALO staff in the region, and headquarters.

This role is for an initial 6 month period, with an immediate start date.

Role and Responsibility
Lead on the design and delivery of remote and face-to-face EORE messaging that is contextually specific, in line with IMAS 12.10 and follows best practice
Where necessary, advise and train HALO staff on EORE delivery
Where necessary, provide EORE training to members of the wider humanitarian sector operating in Ukraine
Where necessary, conduct needs assessments to develop messaging for at-risk groups, and integrate behaviour change communication principles into EORE sessions
Conduct quality assurance checks on EORE sessions and provide additional training as needed to improve effectiveness
Provide technical support, advice, and assistance with the implementation of digital or other remote EORE which may include targeted social media messaging, the development of digital apps, risk education talking device content, radio spots, or other media
Represent HALO in meetings as required

Required Experience and Qualifications
2 years designing and delivering face-to-face EORE content
Experience designing digital content, including videos and targeted ads
Demonstrable understanding of behaviour change communication principles and how best to integrate them into EORE initiatives
Demonstrable knowledge of IMAS 12.10 and the role of EORE in conflict / post-conflict environments
Willingness to travel to and work in Poland and Ukraine, in conflict areas, with limited amenities, and under significant pressure
