Position Summary:
PAE is currently seeking qualified candidates (6) to serve as Operation Advisors on the EXBS Land Border Security Advisory Team and join our dynamic team based in Kyiv, Ukraine on a TDY basis with travel to project areas on the Eastern Border. Deploy to project areas to train, mentor, and advise leadership personnel engaged in border security operations and serve as an advocate for Euro-Atlantic land border security “best operational practices”. Advisors will conduct operations as part of an overall Advisory team and deploy individual teams of two.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Operations Advisors train and mentor State Border Guard Service (SBGS) Warrant Officers on a broad range of Euro-Atlantic operational and technical security initiatives.
Assist and advise with planning, deployment, and monitoring of micro-camera and electro-optical surveillance systems.
Support the Technical Advisor on the Land Border Security Advisory Team to develop a comprehensive surveillance, communications, and monitoring scheme.
Train and mentor SBGS Warrant Officers during planning, preparing, execution, and assessment of border surveillance operations.
Promote the continuing development of SBGS Warrant Officer professional standards, to include firearms proficiency, emergency casualty care protocols, off-road vehicle operations, and small unit border patrol activities.
Provide comprehensive reports and practical recommendations to the Senior Advisor regarding SBGS Warrant Officer professional progress and development.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Higher education
10+ Professional patrol experience with a Customs Border Protection Agency
International law enforcement development and deployment experience
Experience working with formal operations and intelligence cycles
Formal training and work experience with NATO standardized mission orders and planning processes
Experience in operating covert camera and electro-optical surveillance systems
Demonstrated cross-cultural communications and adaptive leadership skills
Fluency in spoken and written English
Good interpersonal and time management skills
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in Ukrainian and/or Russian or former Soviet Affairs
Working knowledge of Ukrainian and/or Russian languages
Federal Law Enforcement Firearms or Drivers Training Instructor Certification
Tactical Emergency Casualty Care Certification
Formal training and operational experience in Mobile Field Force (MFF) Operations, non-lethal crowd control techniques, and specialty impact weapons and munitions.
