Role overview
The Global Safeguarding Officer will support the management of safeguarding across VSO globally. The position holder will provide guidance on safeguarding practice contextually for the locations VSO is currently implementing work. S/He will be responsible for incident and crisis management response acting on the matter on hand and provide support as needed, and also cull learning and action points following the incidences. S/He will develop safeguarding training curriculum and provide training on safeguarding and duty of care. S/He will also be responsible in case monitoring and documenting of cases and responsible in registering them on VSO system called Medgate.
Skills, qualifications and experience
Technical Competencies
• Experience in child safeguarding, protection against sexual exploitation and abuse or other relevant specialism
• Experience of high-volume casework management
• Experience in pastoral care and providing confidential and sensitive support
• Experience in working in a cross-cultural context
• Undertaken Safeguarding/Child protection training
• Undertaken investigations training
