Context of the position
Team Lead with focus on Safety & Security (m/f/d) of organization operations in Northeast Syria includes the responsibility of developing and strengthening organization Safety and Security settings as well as implementing Safety and Security protocols and procedures. The work location will be in Northeast Syria.

Context of the position
Team Lead with focus on Safety & Security (m/f/d) of organization operations in Northeast Syria includes the responsibility of developing and strengthening organization Safety and Security settings as well as implementing Safety and Security protocols and procedures. The work location will be in Northeast Syria.
The position comes with high individual responsibility and demand high social skills. We are a relatively small and young humanitarian organization. Hence, the Team Lead with focus on Safety & Security (m/f/d) should have joy in building structures, coordinating its work closely with colleagues and understand team wellbeing as an integral part of security. The positions does not only include Safety and Security related tasks but also coordinating and supporting the international team during their deployment. Close cooperation with HQ and field staff on an eye level as well as inclusive approaches with the local community should be the basis.
Responsibilities and Tasks
Crew Care and Access
Support and supervision of international staff
Support international staff during their daily routine
Regular debriefings within the international team, briefings for new arrivals
Secure well-being of international staff while being deployed in NES
Organize and facilitate travels of international team members from and to NES
Monitor travel regulations and access restrictions to KR-Iraq and Northeast Syria and support international staff with travel arrangements and permissions with authorities.
Safety and Security
Organizing movement inside NES including logistics for daily travels
Security briefings for international team members
Assessment and monitoring of security situation in NES and the region
Provide technical input for safety and security related policies in Northeast Syria
Implement, assess and if necessary adjust security related protocols
Provide technical input for safety and security manual
Security focal point for international team
Prepare and conduct security assessments
Prepare and supervise security trainings in coordination with resident Safety and Security Adviser
Provide technical input and implement organization contingence planning for NES
Assess travel restrictions and policies during travels, on a daily basis
Administration Support: Support project Coordination and project management assistant in assigned tasks
Required Skills and Qualification
Minimum 2 years of experience working with humanitarian in similar function
Fluency in English (in writing and speaking), Arabic or Kurdish is an asset
Proven track record of security related trainings or experience in a security related field
Organized and structured working approach and demonstrated experience in working in conflict context and complex international setting.
Proactive and assertive attitude where needed
Excellent interpersonal skills, problem solving skills, patience and diplomacy.
Being able to handle high level of frustration
Experienced with handling international teams in stressful and complex situation
