Tearfund is hiring an experienced Safety & Security Manager, who will be 50% of the time working for the West Africa cluster (WA) and 50% of the time working for South and East Africa (SEA).

Do you want to use your skills to develop and ensure the systematic application of safety management policies and procedures across all of Tearfund's operational areas in West, Southern and Eastern Africa? Are you driven to building capacity and motivation of teams around security analysis and management as appropriate across roles? As the Safety & Security Manager you will maintain relationships with the global International Safety and Security Team, provide and update training of staff in the region and countries, and be the focal point for provision of support during critical incidents in WA and SEA.

To be successful in this role, you will have extensive experience in:
Safety and Security risk management and have experience in providing advice in highly insecure regions
Promoting a positive culture of effective Safety and Staff welfare
Organising trainings and providing advice to key decision-makers and staff members
Conducting security risk assessments
Developing and reviewing safety and security plans
Managing security incidents and investigations

You will be:

An excellent communicator and have proven experience of external representation and engagement
Fluent in English and preferably working knowledge of French or Portuguese.

Please note: The post must be based in any of Tearfund's Africa offices where we are registered and able to employ staff, with extensive travel to the West Africa and South East African countries. Salary will be market related and dependent on location.
