Cowan is assisting an international mining company to recruit an expatriate female Assistant Security Manager. Previous security management experience in the mining sector is essential. Additional experience in the diamond mining sector will be advantageous.
THE OPPORTUNITY
• Supervision of security staff
• Formulate and implement HR policies and strategies to attract, develop, utilize and retain skilled and experienced manpower required to sustain operations.
• Security Infrastructure improvements
• Inspection of external security
• Discipline/safety maintenance
• Criminal investigations
• Security policy formulation
• Training of staff
• Maintenance of security equipment and supplies.
YOU ARE
• A female candidate
• Currently or recently employed in a similar role
• Willing to work on a Single Status FIFO roster
YOU BRING
• Grade 12 certificate + Diploma/Degree in any Administration discipline/Graduation degree
• Should have at least 5 years’ Military or Police/Para-military service background
• Should have at least 5 years’ work experience in mining security operations management - in a similar capacity – and in a reputable company
• Good computer skills
• Experience with business continuity planning, auditing and risk management, as well as contract and vendor negotiation
• Excellent analytical and evaluation skills
• Good command of both oral and written communication in English
• Good leadership skills
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
