Security Manager – Aviation & Maritime

Med Aire is currently looking for a Security Manager – Aviation & Maritime.

The Security Manager – Aviation & Maritime (SM-A&M) is primarily responsible for the day-to-day delivery of aviation and maritime security assessments, advice and assistance. Under direction from the Security Operations Manager – Aviation & Maritime, the SM-A&M delivers consistent, high-quality aviation and maritime security and crisis management expertise to clients in the aviation, commercial maritime, and luxury yachting industries. The SM-A&M provides oversight to the Security Specialists who deliver these services.

The role of the Security Manager is to:
Oversee the service delivery, quality and case management of aviation and maritime assessments, advice and assistance to ensure high-quality 24/7 delivery of global aviation and maritime security support.
Maintain best practices and technical aviation and maritime risk analysis on the operational platform.
Monitor global security events and trends, initiate reports and provide analytical guidance on aviation incidents and operations.
Provide aviation and maritime security guidance to global crisis support operations and security escalations when required.
Mentor, train, and develop Security Specialists in aviation and maritime security competencies, leadership, and ensure consistent quality of all products produced by the A&M security team
Consistent use of business systems to capture data relevant to workload, performance, and client satisfaction.
Undertake client facing tasks as required, including delivery of consulting and training services and description of services during client visits.


Required Skills and Knowledge
· Extensive experience with the aviation industry and knowledge of the aviation security environment
· Security, risk and crisis management experience
· Experience operating in an international context (assignments, exchanges or experience in an overseas environment)
· Experience managing the intelligence cycle
· Experience with applying analytical techniques and procedures
· People management experience
· Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office Suite mapping software and other applications.


Required Work Experience
· 5-10 years experience in civil aviation, national military, law enforcement, intelligence or corporate security
· 3-5 years aviation security experience preferably in operational risk assessment and/or flight planning
· 3-5 years analytical experience including identifying sources, synthesizing information and writing finished reports using open source intelligence (OSINT)
· Demonstrated security planning expertise in an international environment
· Client-facing interaction experience
· International travel experience or work abroad assignment

Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university
· Must be able to legally work in Dubai
· Formal intelligence/analyst training required and documented (military, government, or civilian).
· Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel & Power Point) the ability to use specific software and hardware systems, IT infrastructure, and intelligence data sources to support the role.
· Ability to work as part of a team
· Ability to learn and adapt to new procedures and operating protocols
· Ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with colleagues from different cultures and ethnic backgrounds
· Ability to maintain high professional standards at all times

Required Languages
· English
· Arabic proficiency highly desirable
· Proficiency in other languages is advantageous (Farsi, Turkish, etc.)

Travel / Rotation Requirements
· Travel dependent on business needs, approximately 10% of total working hours
· Ability to deploy domestically or internationally at short notice as part of an Incident Management Team
· Ability to be part of an on-call rotation outside of normal duty hours, in support of operations.
