Duties and Responsibilities
Security Guard works under the direct supervision of Administrative Associate. The Security Guard provides guard service ensuring protection of the UNDP employees, premises, vehicles and other property. Security Guard performs his/her duties scheduled per shifts (1 shift = 8 working hours). The incumbent will be required to wear Guard’s uniform while standing the post and ensure proper use of “Use of Force” equipment Security Guard duties are defined in standing Standard Operating Procedures, Post Orders, and other relevant security plans. The following sections describe general Security Guard duties but they are not limited to them:
Access Control
Control Center
Emergency Response
Other Duties
Perform other tasks if assigned by the supervisor

1.Access Control
Provides identification of UNDP employees by their IDs, visitors by the national passports or Driver’s license;
Performa the pedestrian access control to the UNDP premises ensuring that all personnel and visitors entering the premises are properly identified, screened and logged;
Controls the access of the diplomatic cars into the court yard of the UNDP premises preventing the use of the parking zone designated for the diplomatic cars by the other drivers;
Prevents unauthorized personnel from entering the UNDP premises. Gives access to the UNDP employees and those, whose names are indicated in the ‘access request form”;
Ensures that the persons removing equipment or property from the UNDP premises present the equipment and valid documents in which this action is duly authorized;
Performs the roving checks of the UNDP premises and its inner, outer perimeter and parking area in front of the compound;
Uses access control technical equipment. Maintains control of the emergency key system and its log sheet;
Implements all related and prescribed technical and nontechnical measures at the request of the supervisors.


2.Control Center: maintains the operation of the security control center:
UNDP Building Emergency Line;
Public Address System;
Video Surveillance System;
Intrusion Detection System;
Fire Safety and Suppression System;
Security alarm system;
Electronic door locking/access control system;
VHF working channel for d/s Area;


Security Guard must know the existing procedures and comply with them.

3.Emergency response
Act as a response during any emergency or incident during working hours as well as weekends and holidays;
Know how to properly employ firefighting equipment should a fire be discovered on premises.


4. Other Duties
Provides support in regular and ongoing reviews and inspections of current security procedures, policies and systems;
Maintains peace and order within UNDP;
Maintains all logbooks in respect to established routine;
Provides verbal and written incident report to supervisors;
Provides security support for organized events upon request;
Performs other duties as directed by Supervisor.


Competencies

Technical expertise with firealarm systems and technical security, video-surveilance, metal deterctors, security alarm system;
User of windows applications, internet, e-mail;
Good communication skills,ability to work alone and in the team;
Client orientation, attention, stress resistance.


Required Skills and Experience

Secondary education
Additional trainings in providing security services, first aid, etc. are an asset
5 years of experience in providing security services
Experience with international organizations or embassies is an asset
Fluency in Russian
Working knowledge of English is preferable
