Oxfam International is unable to guarantee the obtaining of a work permit for the role. Candidates must have and be able to retain the legal right to work in the above-mentioned locations. We are not able to support the relocation of a candidate to take up the position in an Oxfam location.

*The Role

Oxfam International Secretariat is looking for a Global Head of Security who will ensure that Oxfam global security systems and processes including aspects of health and safety and safe programming are in line with industry best and emerging practices. The candidate will be expected to incentivise and support structures across Oxfam systems enabling excellence and relevance to our aim of operating particularly in challenging settings in partnership with other actors. The Global Head of Security will offer security expertise and crisis management support to affiliates, Oxfam International, Global Humanitarian Team, regional teams and countries while giving strategic input and support to key stakeholders on Security Management, Staff Health and Safety. Leadership and team management will also be provided to the Global Security Team as well as representing Oxfam externally by leading and participating in international debates.

We are looking for a strategic leader with extensive working knowledge of security and crisis management and have international experience in a similar large, complex, dynamic and multicultural organization with relevant field experience. As an experienced head, you will lead and develop a high-level specialist team and will continue to build a solid culture of security risk, Staff Health and Safety management within Oxfam. We are looking for a strong and credible, future oriented candidate to influence and provide internal/ external representation.
