Primary Function
Security Response Team (SRT) Guards will be managed on a day to day basis by the LSA Guard Force Manager to provide a range of armed response duties including but not limited to armed patrol, escorts and manning static positions in order to maintain security in Living Support Areas. They also need to respond to emergencies and augment quick reaction forces when needed. SRT Guards will comply with the intent of the Performance of Work Statement (PWS) section 7.3.3.1, which is related to Life Support Area Security. The Contractor shall provide area security for Life Support (24-hours a day/7-days a week) utilizing an armed security force to establish a protective perimeter, interior security response teams, exterior security response teams, and entry control points.
Responsibilities
Security Response Team (SRT) Guards will dominate the interior of the LSA and its boundaries. The goal is to mitigate potential risks and defeat adversarial threats within LSA. They may engage in a primary and/or supportive role to emergency situations as directed by the LSA Guard Force Manager or a designee.
Be prepared to quickly deliver armed response to immediate threats and emergency situations that may include but are limited to insider threats, IDF or a perimeter breach of the LSA.
Be ready to support quick response security in support of undesirable events within the LSA.
Provide armed patrol as directed by the LSA Guard Force Manager within the operational area of LSA.
Provide armed escort as directed by the LSA Guard Force Manager within the operational area of LSA.
Provide static or sentry duties and roving patrols as directed by the Guard Force Manager.
Provide security support during VIP visits and special celebratory events. The support may be conducted at living quarters and other venue areas as directed by the LSA Guard Force Manager.
Conduct Random Antiterrorism Measures (RAMs) as directed by the Guard Force Manager.
Participate and/or lead training exercises in accordance with the Mission Essential Tasks (METL) lesson plans, SOPs, Post Orders, at the direction of the LSA Guard Force Manager.
All security personnel can be recalled at any time and required assemble at locations determined by the LSA Guard Force Manager in response to an immediate threat or emergency situations.
Job Requirements
Must possess a basic level of English speaking, reading and writing. Must be able to communicate effectively with VIPs, clients, customers and other Sallyport personnel possibly during emergency situations.
Must be able to produce clear and concise written and/or verbal reports and briefings to Security Management.
Must have previous training and experience utilizing issued firearms in a professional capacity.
Must be able to become thoroughly familiar with LSA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Special Security Instructions (SSI).
Must have good people skills in order work effectively with other security staff and our Clients and Customers.
Minimum three (3) years of experience in military, ideally in Combat Arms, Government Law Enforcement agency or a Private Security Company. It is preferable that the candidate would have separated from these entities within the last three (3) years.
Experience with Private Security Companies is highly desirable.
Knowledge of Security techniques and understanding of procedures, including, physical barriers, static guards, vehicle /personnel search methods at entry check points, defensive operations and use of (quick reaction) assets is essential.
Strong awareness of Military doctrine, operational concepts and security concepts.
Able to perform duties for up to 12 hours, often in austere conditions to include extreme heat, cold, wind, dust, rain or snow, while wearing necessary PPE (body armor for example).
Consistently demonstrate integrity, trustworthiness loyalty and commitment.
Must be able to function well as part of a multi-national team by understanding cultural factors and sensitivities when working with Iraqi Military and Iraqi civilian co-workers.
Willing to be flexible regarding hours and respond quickly to time sensitive or urgent requirements.
Ability to work in harsh climatic conditions and under austere living conditions with the potential for an element of danger.
Ability to work under pressure, exercise good judgement and use own initiative to make effective decisions.
