Summary:
Responsible for providing close protection to the principal from any potential threats and risks. Responsible for a wide range of tasks depending on the level of risks and needs of the clients and the operating environment. Primary place of duty will be the project to which assigned. Actively supports and upholds the Company’s stated vision, mission, and values.
Be available on the project 24 hours a day / 7-days a week
Conduct close protection operations to the client you are assigned to protect
Maintain effective and efficient security coverage for the working environment that you are assigned to
Conduct advance work and implement pre-established security arrangements
Adjust your operating profile accordingly based on the operating environment, event type and venue requirements
Conduct or contribute to pre-deployment briefings
Assist in training close protection personnel in order to ensure everyone remains current with tactics and techniques
Maintain constant situational awareness of the environment that you are working in
Constantly display a high degree of professional ability, and professional demeanor, appearance, and attitude
Operate non-tactical and armored motor vehicles safely within the operating environment
Maintain proficiency with all Caliburn Close Protection tactics, techniques and procedures associated with your position
Maintain demonstrated weapons proficiency and only utilize those weapons which you are assigned, qualified, and legally authorized to carry
Respond to any security threats in accordance with the Caliburn Guiding Principles for the Use of Force, Rules for the Use of Force, the Law of Armed Conflict, and Host Nation Laws
Coordinate, manage, and monitor the workings of the team you are assigned to
Recommend improvements to processes and policies to ensure maximum output of the project
Ensure you adhere to all Caliburn policies and operate within the project contract scope of work at all times
Be prepared to communicate the needs of the project to higher management
Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve operational goals, solicit input by genuinely valuing others ideas and expertise, be willing to learn from others, place the teams agenda before your own personal agenda, support and act in accordance with the final management decision even when such decisions may not entirely reflect your own position
Responsible for the accountability of all equipment and resources assigned
Abide by the Caliburn Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and the Caliburn Statement of Conformance
Be intimately familiar with the client’s security plan
Follow established Janus Standard Operating Procedures
Adhere to COVID-19 protocols
Adhere to the client’s specific rules and regulations for the project that you are assigned to
Submit reports as directed
Be prepared to carry out any additional project related duties as directed by the in-country Management
Understand the Chain of Command
Reports to the Team Leader
Must be a citizen of a NATO / RS contributing / participating country
Able to proficiently communicate in English
Intermediate user level of computer systems; Microsoft office software
Ability to manage multiple pursuits simultaneously, personnel, budgets, materials, and time
Ability to articulate detailed reports in a timely and accurate manner both orally and written
Ability to interface with all levels of management within the company and with the client
Proven command, control, and operational experience in a challenging or high-risk environment
Ability to identify and react rapidly, with a calm demeanor, to all security significant issues
Ability to develop local national relationships and to demonstrate an understanding and empathy towards cultural and religious sensitivities
A seasoned security professional with a minimum of 8 years’ service in a combat arms specialty, reaching the minimum rank of a senior non-commissioned officer, with at least 2 years in that rank or 5 years’ of progressively responsible experience in close protection with a national, private or international security organization
Experienced with conducting threat, risk & vulnerability assessments
Previous experience working with multinational teams
Advanced driving skills operating non-tactical and armored vehicles of various types in a benign and hostile environment
Must have verifiable hostile environment/combat theatre experience, an extensive tactical background, or extensive threat environment security experience
Must be able to don and wear all required personal protective gear for long periods of time
Place of duty and environmental conditions can be extremely austere, harsh and in remote locations. Be prepared to execute duties in various climates to include extreme heat, cold, wind, dust, rain, or snow
Must be able to work in a hostile and high threat environment
Must have an honorable discharge from the military
Must hold a valid passport and driver’s license
Must be a minimum age of 28 years old
Must pass an annual detailed background check
Displayed proficiency on various 9mm, 5.56mm, & 7.62mm weapons systems as assigned
Must be willing to live under austere conditions
Must be able to pass an annual medical physical and drug screening approving candidate for overseas work
Must be able to pass a detailed background investigation at a frequency as required by contract
Must be able to meet the physical requirements dictated by project requirements
