Security Ops Coordinator

Role Positioning And Objectives:

The role is responsible to provide support to the development, implementation, identification, and operational management of Solomon Islands Tobacco Company Security programs to ensure a comprehensive business integrated security service and working in alignment with British American Tobacco standards relevant in the security area.

Support implementation of the Corporate Crisis Management Program for Solomon Islands Tobacco Company.


Reports to: National Security Manager

Reporting Level: Responsible for 120 head-count and to work alongside security external services

Geographic Scope: Solomon Islands, Honiara

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
The role will be required to support NSM to engage at all levels of Executive Management and to provide assistance as required.
The role has a number of unique challenges due to the Level of security/safety risk faced by the organisation and our employees.
Deliver significant advantage to BAT through the timely development of security measures to counter potential risks and threats identified through the effective collection and evaluation of information pertaining to criminal activity and threats to company personnel, assets, information and business operations and activities.
Review, develop, implement and maintain effective security policies and procedures in accordance with ‘Best Practice’ to minimize risks to company personnel, assets, information and business operations and activities.
Be the focal point for Police and Intelligence Agencies enquiries and assistance in sometimes complex confidential inquiries.
Deliver Crisis Management Programmes and undertake the role of Secretary to the Corporate Crisis Committee to ensure professional service delivery standards are achieved and provide strategic Crisis Management Training and direction for the Executive Team.
Establish and develop strategies to enhance security awareness within the Company.
Lead by example and develop and nurture a professional and supportive Security Culture within the Company.
Mentor and develop the Security Team to ensure their full performance and development.
Build a Customer Service orientated environment where the Security Team will be seen as a core part of the business adding value to the business.
Drive effectiveness and efficiency of spend within the Security function and reporting functions of the department.
Develop high level relationships with Law Enforcement, Intelligence Agencies and International counterparts including in-country security and international security agencies.
Build professional and ongoing relationships with the local team to ensure effective service delivery and the integration of security services within the business.
Build internal networks to provide an acceptable and reliable communication channel between staff and the security team and function.
Develop high level relationships and networks with private sector counterparts and be seen as a leading member of the private sector security community.
Establish appropriate standards and associated risk controls.
Development and implementation of Security Awareness Programmes for all employees and where appropriate valued business partners, to ensure full cross-functional commitment to security policies, procedures and strategies through communication, education, and evaluation of initiatives.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Minimum university degree or Diploma level
5 years or more experience in managing people
5 years prior experience in a Security Manager role or the Military force.
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, highly numerical, fully confident in using data to inform decisions.
Pro-active, creative and dynamic.
Ability to deliver on long term plans that incorporate on-going activities and incorporate the development and improvement of existing reporting and systems
Strong commercial acumen & the ability to recognise potential business opportunities presented by changing environment
Proven delivery of on time projects
Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office across Excel, Power-point, and Word
