About the job
The security manager will assist the Client to continuously assess the threat context within their area of operations, assist in strengthening security programmes and manage security assets.
Responsibilities
Provide ongoing council to the Client’s country office leadership on the security challenges of the Mexican context
Designing and deliver training on security awareness for the Client’s personnel traveling in Mexico
Monitor and response to local security incidents, including crisis management and emergency response
Create a risk mitigation plan for Mexico in accordance with the Client’s security requirements
Manage and direct contracted security personnel
Provide periodical intelligence reports and assessments as required by the Client
Create a journey management plan for personnel traveling in Mexico
Other tasks than may arise from daily operation with the Client
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
Awareness of humanitarian programming and principles
Demonstrated knowledge of Mexico security environment and risk mitigation programs
At least five years’ experience in journey management in Mexico
Proven experience of operating in hostile Mexico environments (particularly northern border area)
Track record of strengthening security culture through communication, security programs and security trainings
Advanced use of Microsoft office tools
Availability and willingness to travel at short notice to high-risk environments within Mexico
Ability to communicate (verbal and written) with fluency in English and Spanish
Qualifications
Preferred
Any security certification (particularly related to NGOs and humanitarian aid)
