Regional Operations Manager, Katanga, DR Congo

Place of work/Travel:
Katanga, DR Congo / with regular travel within the region and the DRC in general, occasionally to GardaWorld offices such as Nairobi, Dubai, London if required.

Accountability:

The Regional Operations Manager, Katanga, is accountable to the Country Operations Manager for their responsibilities stated in this job description. These responsibilities will be monitored and managed through the mid-year and annual performance review and supported through the monitoring of their KPIs.

Experience:

Must have fulfilled at a minimum, a project security management role in the DRC but ideally has experience in managing multiple projects and operations in country.

Fluent in written / spoken French and English.

Minimum of 10 years of security management experience and ideally 3 – 5 years managing a man guarding business (of not less than 1,500 personnel) operationally.

Ideally served in the military or police for a minimum of 3 – 5 years.

Should be a graduate and ideally studied in risk and security management.

Must have managed security operations in the mining and or oil and gas sectors with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Africa.

Demonstrable experience of carrying out security risk assessments, producing a report and presenting key findings and recommendations which can contribute towards the design of security solutions to meet client requirements.

Must have proven experience of preparing contingency / emergency response and business continuity plans.

Ideally has experience of successfully managing industrial relations, contributing towards the negotiation of CBA’s and Recognition Agreements and dealt with industrial action as well.

Experience working with key external stakeholders such as but not limited to local communities, Government agencies and Aid organisations which ensure safe and secure security operations.

Experience operating independently in remote and at times hostile environments in support of the company and or a client.
