Description: 

Reporting to the Hub manager and in collaboration with the country coordination services, the Logistics Manager North-East ensures the efficient management of logistical resources for the area for which s/he is responsible. S/he is the focal point for the Hub Manager and as such informs him/her of any problems and suggests solutions within his/her scope of responsibility.

S/he participates actively in the phased reorganization of HI in the field as part of the ROOTS project. S/he is a key player in the rollout and implementation of HI’s logistics standards, consisting in a reworking of the positioning of logistics at HI and the assertion of the principle of the professional channel.


Responsibility 1: Steers logistics strategy and functioning through the active promotion of HI’s institutional policy and the optimisation of our resources

Responsibility 2: Standards and Accountability

Responsibility 3: Operational logistics management

Responsibility 4: Leads the professional development of the logistics sector within his/her scope and helps to do so for the organization as a whole

Responsibility 5: Is responsible for providing appropriate support to emergency responses occurring within his/her geographical scope

Responsibility 6: Assumes the role and stance of manager with regards to his/her staff


PROFIL:
Education background:
o Bachelor’s degree in the related field

Experience :
o More than 4 years working experience as logistics coordinator / logistics manager in humanitarian programs
o Previous experience with HI
o Previous experience working in humanitarian programs in the Middle East
o Previous experience in remote control programs
o Previous experience in managing logistics for humanitarian responses to epidemics

Skills:
o Objectives and contents of transformation projects (simplification, managing change, Manager 2.0, etc.)
o HI’s vision, mandate, values and strategy
o Humanitarian principles
o Humanitarian environment
o Donor frameworks and rules
o Command of IT tools (including advanced level Excel and Word)
o Practice of logistics professions in a humanitarian environment
o Team leading and mobilisation
o Organised
o Autonomous

o Able to work as part of multi-cultural and -disciplinary teams

Language skills(s):
o Oral and written mastery of English
o Oral and written knowledge of Arabic would be an asset

CONDITIONS

• 12 months international contract ideally starting in June

• Salary from 2813€ gross/month upon experience
• Perdiem : 499€ net/month paid in the field
• Hardship allowance: 500€ net/month
• Paid leaves : 25 days per year
• R&R : 5days of R&R every 8 weeks
• Housing : taken in charge by HI
