Responsibilities:
Report to the Project Manager for administrative matters;
Report to the Project Authority;
Performing detailed intelligence analysis for the Mission on a tactical and operational level
Collecting, collating, and analysing open source, grey literature, and classified intelligence from a variety of sources including NATO Resolute Support, Five-Eyes and other friendly sources;
Conducting and coordinating the dissemination of intelligence products to the necessary staff at Mission, liaising with other missions, local contacts, nongovernmental organisations, missions, the Afghan government, and other pertinent organisations;
Daily collection, management, dissemination, and analysis of classified and unclassified significant activity;
Gather open-source intelligence, analyse trends, provide a daily intelligence report, and provide expert advice to the Project Authority (or delegates);
Maintenance of a comprehensive security database which includes, but is not limited to, regional and Kabul-specific statistics;
Provisions of a weekly classified and unclassified intelligence summary, including executive summary, regional overview and threat assessment;
Analysis of patterns and trends; including but not limited to terrorism, crime, civil unrest, counter intelligence;
Production of threat and risk analysis reports and estimates;
Providing a daily intelligence summary and briefing to security team;
Liaison with other organisations, Embassies, military organisations, the NATO mission, NGOs, and intelligence operatives to produce intelligence reporting;
Utilising a range of analytical tools, techniques, and software;
Delivery of tactical and operational briefings as required by the mission, including to senior management, staff and contractors, visitors, and others as required;
Armed and is expected to contribute to the defence of the building during an emergency;
Assist CPOs with recces and reporting, as required; and,
Other tasks as required by the Project Authority (or delegates).
QUALIFICATIONS
Five years of experience working in an intelligence analysis capacity with law enforcement, military or intelligence agency;
Must have three years’ experience creating threat assessments;
Must have at least six months’ experience working within a conflict zone within the past three years;
Must be culturally fluent and have experience in Afghanistan;
Must hold enhanced Top Secret clearance (Canadian indoctrination), valid FIVE EYES TS-SI or equivalent clearance;
Must be able to access NATO Secret Documents;
Must have experience managing human sources;
Must be competent at developing and fostering information sharing networks;
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills;
Detailed understanding of intelligence analysis techniques;
Accomplished writing skills in English;
Effective communication and interpersonal skills;
Strong client-facing skills;
Competent IT skills, particularly MS Office based software, and CTSN applications;
Able to work autonomously with daily accelerated deadlines;
Fluency in written and oral English, knowledge of local languages is preferable; and,
Be capable of effectively presenting written or oral presentation to staff at the NATO equivalent of OF-06 (Brigadier-General).
