The Ideal Candidate:
Ideally French/English speaking

a. Minimum of 5 years similar military/police/commercial experience in logistics and fleet management;
b. Minimum of 12 months experience in an area of active conflict;
c. Experience in general office administration;
d. Ability to draft detailed and accurate reports;
e. Ability to articulate facts in a timely and accurate manner both orally and in writing;
f. Have a sound understanding of principles of equipment husbandry and management;
g. Ability to liaise and interact with contractors, employees, and key suppliers;
h. Experience working to very tight deadlines within a high tempo office environment;
i. Dynamic organization/follow up skills and ability multi-task;
j. Team player essential with a positive attitude and ability to develop key relationships with ease and confidence;
k. Understanding of the cultural and diversity issues within a team and promotion of harmony.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITY:
a. Ensure the CEK Fleet is managed effectively and efficiently in compliance with international best practice, applicable legislation, and Global Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) policy;
b. Manage the daily operations of driver staff in coordination with Operations Room Manager’s direction;
c. Ensure daily vehicle checks are completed; any faults are reported and addressed in a timely fashion;
d. Maximize utilization and availability of vehicle assets;
e. Minimize cost per km in accordance with operational reality;
f. Oversee vehicle workshops & repairs in accordance with industry best practice;
g. Optimize schedules maintenance to (1) extend fleet life (2) minimize service cost and
(3) minimize vehicle off road (VOR) status;
h. Minimize unscheduled repairs by promotion of good vehicle husbandry and preventative maintenance;

i. Provide SME and planning information to internal stakeholders;
j. Research and develop specifications for vehicles, equipment, supplies, and materials;
k. Provide feedback to CEK management regarding vehicle and equipment replacement schedule;
l. Negotiate and establish repair costs or parts pricing with commercial vendors;

m. Prepare monthly fuel reports, monitor fuel expenditure and mileage travelled;
n. Identify/coordinate training needs for CEK drivers;
o. Perform system backups; resolve operating errors and software related issues;
p. Provide ad hoc logistical support to project(s) as direct by Project Manager;
q. Demonstrate balance with a calm demeanor in response to rapidly developing situations and requirements;
r. Demonstrable initiative and maintenance of accuracy in high-pressure situations;
s. Absolute discretion in the handling and maintenance of personnel details;
t. Armed and is expected to contribute to the defense of the embassy during an emergency; and,
u. Show initiative to help find solutions and assist in continuous process development.
