FEBR Gates & Barriers Technician, Lead (FN)

The FEBR Gates & Barriers Technician, Lead will be based at one of three PAE sites in Iraq and serve the Operations and Maintenance Support Services (OMSS) contract in support of the U.S. Department of State. This position will be responsible for take ownership of all pedestrian and vehicular gates and barrier control systems and assist on locksmithing operations, which include cypher lock installation and FEBR Gates & Barriers Technician Supervisor. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.

DUTIES:
Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals. Provide information and materials to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.
Perform gates and barriers services as required below:
Inspect, clean, lubricate, and perform preventive maintenance (PM) on the physical security electric and hydraulic pedestrian and vehicular control systems, located at the compound access control (CAC) points.
Verify that all gates and barriers are operational and perform maintenance and repairs based on Manufacturer’s requirements and in accordance with the PAE O&M plan.
Trouble-shoot problems utilize test equipment and meters and assist with installation of new electrical and electro-mechanical devices.
Submit reports to the O&M Manager on a scheduled basis.
Assist in developing the Statement of Work (SOW) when requested.
Report any problems or lack of compliance with the SOW or O&M plan, to the O&M Manager.
Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections.
Maintain the appropriate technical library and record-keeping, which documents all procedures necessary to accomplish assigned responsibilities.
Maintain effective, timely, and respectful communication and interaction with other employees and managers and support other organizations.
Perform other administrative tasks including ordering material, inventorying, and scheduling work.
Collect, analyze, and summarize data for report preparation and submit written reports.
Responsible for facility custodianship of work area and management of tools, equipment, and spare parts.
Take initiative to analyze a situation and to make frequent technical decisions based on specifications, safety, and electrical codes.
Evaluate operational effectiveness and develop/maintain effective operational control mechanisms.
Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.



REQUIRED:
Minimum Acceptable Experience Level:
Seven (7) years’ general security system maintenance experience with security controls equipment.
Three (3) years’ general security operations and maintenance (O&M) experience in an overseas setting.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of applicable U.S. Codes and accepted trade practices.
Knowledge and experience regarding occupational hazards and related safety precautions associated with security gates and barriers systems and equipment.
Good organizational and communication skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently.
Knowledge of principles and processes involved in supporting contract responsibilities at an overseas facility.
Experience providing excellent customer services.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to become an active and functioning member of a team.
Ability to be innovative and be an agent for change.
Expert communication skills to facilitate and disseminate information.
Education: A high school diploma or GED. Completion of an Apprentice program with a certification comparable to the Journeyman Electrician, an AA/AS trade’s degree from a two-year college, or equivalent field experience.
Licenses and Certifications: Valid drivers’ license and truck drivers’ license from Home of Record.
Security Vetting: Already possess a US Government issued security clearance or Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) or be able to obtain a favorable MRPT certification or US Government clearance prior to being hired is required for the position. Must maintain eligibility at the required certification or clearance level for the duration of the contract.
Language Skills: Satisfactory English proficiency to meet job requirements and to adhere and comply with safety, health, and security measures.
Medical: Successfully complete and pass the medical and dental examinations as required by PAE and our customer for deployment to Iraq. Must maintain physical and dental requirements for duration of deployment.

DESIRED:
Previous out of home country experience with a multi-national workforce is highly desirable and previous work experience in harsh environmental conditions is a plus.
Experience working with TSS, cypher locks, and power hanger doors.
Experience working with PAE.
