Responsibilities
This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.
This position assists the Ammunition Specialist (Lead) with providing all required installations with all ammunition issues concerning warehousing, issue, shipping of weapons, ammunition, explosive and missiles on the Installation and at the Ammunition Supply Point (ASP) and Ammunition Holding Area (AHA).
Coordinates inspections and addresses issues with all Installation ammunition POC’s.
Monitors all Installation agencies on storage operations including issue, receiving, warehousing, shipping, inventories and location surveys.
Provides technical assistance to the DOL and Installation agencies on the implementation of new programs and changes in the area of responsibility.
Interface with the Government QASAS, as required, during periodic visits to installation, takes appropriate corrective action as required.
Coordinates with Installation agencies for scheduled or non-scheduled inspections or assistance as needed.
Act as the Installations Liaison for all ammunition issues between Armed Forces POC that utilizes the Installations ASP and AHA.
Reviews storage, Fire Plans and safety policies with all Installations ammunition storage areas; Reviews key control and physical security of all munitions storage areas. Inspects storage facilities for evidence of illegal/unauthorized or forced entry, and reports any broken/lost keys, and/or unsecured storage facilities to the DOL and Logistics Support; Reviews magazine Plano graphs and ensure they are posted in each location containing munitions; Reviews and maintains the Explosive Safety Site Plan and Risk Assessment in accordance with ARCENT headquarters to maintain compatibility and compliance with approved and established Net Explosive Weight (NEW) limitations.
Conduct Installation Arms Room inspections and update and manage DA Form 4604-R for storage areas.
Maintains current Ammunition, Regulations, Technical Publications and records.
Ensures that all employees are always in compliance with all established Safety Policies and Regulations.
Performs other duties and assignments as required.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
High School Diploma Associates/Bachelors is preferred
Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Certification:
Must have Ammo 108 DL Ammo Handlers (CERT) or 89B10 Ammunition Supply Course (CERT) Ammunition Holding Area Managers Course
Experience:
Candidate will have military experience as a 89B or 55B and or 5 years work experience with munitions logistic and supply management at ASP or AHAs.

Must read, write, and speak English fluently.
Working Conditions:
Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).
Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.
Physical Requirements:
Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in
areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
