Summary:
Responsible for leading protective operations teams in support of a US Government Facility. Actively support and uphold the Company’s stated vision, mission and values.
• Performs close-in protection of the protectee(s), ensuring the safety of the protectee and other assigned protectees during movements and venue visits.
• Coordinates initial mission planning, including coordination with the TOC/SOC, and other RSO personnel to assign and schedule route and site surveys.
• Finalizes details with the protectee regarding number of passengers, number of venues to be visited, venue-specific information, and any special needs (e.g., split-site visits, special security requirements, etc.)
• Prepares and gives pre-mission briefings for protectees prior to movement, addressing destination, planned routes, estimated duration, guidance in the event of an incident (e.g., breakdown, illness/injury, hostile contract, etc.), and critical medical information/concerns for the protectees.
• In command of the limo during motorcade operations. While overall tactical command of the motorcade is left to the SL, the SDL has override authority in the event of an incident where action must be taken to preserve/evacuate the protectee(s).
• A bio approved SDL is authorized to permanently fill the position / labor category of the Shift Leader (SL) in case of shortages with the approval of the CO or COR.
• Must be a US citizen.
• Must possess a minimum of six (6) years’ experience in protective security assignments.
o A minimum of two (2) years of this experience must have been in a supervisory or in-charge capacity.
o A minimum of two (2) years of this experience must have been as a Shift Leader working in protective security on WPS II or any of its predecessor contracts (i.e., WPPS, WPPS II, WPS).
o The remaining four (4) years of experience may be gained in the employ of any national, state, provincial, local, or commercial entities providing armed high threat protective services.
• Must have a valid US Passport
• Must have a current US driver's license
• Must be able to pass a physical fitness agility test and maintain that fitness leve for the duration of his/her service on the task order
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening; position is also subject to random drug screening throughout the course of employment
• Basic or Advanced Certification as a Security Guard is preferred
• If prior US Military, must have an honorable discharge
• Must be able to pass a detailed background investigation and possess the criteria to be awarded and maintain the necessary US-issued security clearance
• Must be able to pass a medical physical approving candidate for overseas work
• Ability to travel to, and/or work in, an austere, hostile, or remote location.
• Attend and successfully complete the PSS training course
• Attend and successfully complete the required supervisor training course
• Qualify with the Glock-19, M4, M203, M240, M249, and Remington 870 shotgun, re-qualifying as required by the task order
