Search and Rescue Medic - Afghanistan

Scope:  
The SAR Medic shall be utilized to provide search and rescue, medical, security, and quick reaction force to support assigned program. The SAR Medic will integrate with the team, meet all training standards, and will follow all team policies and procedures as directed by the SAR Medic Supervisor. All services shall be provided in accordance with established standards, principles and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for whichCHSi is recognized.

Duties:

The primary responsibilities of the SAR Medic include the following:

SAR Medic will maintain a positive professional relationship with colleges, flight crew and support personnel. 
All SAR Medics will support the SAR Medic Supervisor in daily activities within their assigned duties.

All SAR Medics Shall have the skills and ability to perform:

Medical support as a SAR medic during CASEVAC.
Immediate Assessment and treatment of traumatic life-threatening injury. 
Advance Airway Management 
Advance Invasive Procedures
Endotracheal intubation
Familiarity with prolonged field care and pharmacology
Knowledge/administering of medications
Duties within their scope of practice as dictated by their license.
Conduct and maintain logistical operations as related to the SAR Team
Ability in assessing OCONUS regional/local medical treatment capabilities and developing and implementing CASEVAC plans and procedures
Understand the complexities of security, patrolling and light infantry tactics in relation to Search & Rescue operations in a high-threat environment.
Ability to carry and operate small weapon systems. 
Other duties as assigned.
