Job Summary

The Movement Control Coordinator Mid determines and processes the most efficient mode of transportation to accomplish mission requirements.

Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignmentor contract.)
Coordinate, monitor, and control the movement of personnel, equipment, and cargo by air, road, or water
Prepare transportation movement documents and related forms for type of shipments and modes of travel to include follow-up or response to tracer actions
Request and coordinate transportation assets to fulfill movement requirements
Document and inventory freight, cargo, and material shipments of all types in accordance with established standards
Operate automated data terminal equipment to prepare movement documentation or related correspondence
Effectively present information and respond to questions from customers
Perform office duties such as posting regulations, maintaining files, and preparing office correspondence
Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office software
Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
Good skills at measurements such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions for practical situations
Skills and knowledge in Department of Defense (DOD) transportation organizations, ground transportation networks, freight forwarding, and distribution administration
Skill and knowledge in preparing Defense Transportation Systems reports, quality control, and traffic management functions
Additional knowledge/skills may be required by contract or assignment

Experience & Education
Minimum two (2) years of experience in cargo documentation and logistical movement control in a transportation environment and/or coordinating freight customs, personal property movements, and passenger travel
Experience working with military services, commercial agencies, and/or host nation elements
Proven technical experience in interpretation and use of automated transportation systems such as Global Decision Support System (GDSS), Single Mobility System (SMS), Global Air Transportation Execution System (GATES), Intra-Theater
Airlift Request System (ITARS), Global Transportation Network (GTN), Transportation Coordinator – Automated Information Movement Systems II (TC-AIMS II), Integrated Booking System – Container Management Module (IBS-CMM),
Worldwide Port System (WPS), TransLog Web, Battle Command Support and Sustainment System (BCS3), Joint Operation Planning and Execution System (JOPES), Movement Tracking System (MTS), and Blue Force Tracker
High School Diploma or equivalent
Prefer HAZMAT certification
Additional experience/education may be required by contract or assignment
Must be able to meet the medical deployment requirements IAW CENTCOM MOD 15


Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Ability to perform work while wearing personal protective equipment including vest and helmet
Ability to repeatedly lift and move up to fifty (50) pounds in a field environment
Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions
Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions

Travel
Ability to travel domestically and internationally


Qualifications 

Must have ability to obtain and maintain US security clearance at proper level
