Job Summary:
The Force Protection Specialist performs dispatching, administration, driver operator training, and closed-circuit television (CCTV) monitoring in support of the Air Force’s Force Protection Flight at Ali Al Salem Air Base (AASAB), Kuwait Principal Accountabilities (Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract)
Assists the FP flight chief and NCOIC in maintaining schedules of Force Protection personnel assignments. Assists in maintaining logs and records, and in accountability for flight-issued equipment (brassards, flashlights, radio, holsters, etc.
Performs as a dispatcher to monitor radios and phones to disseminate weather, driving conditions, FPCON levels, and other information to the Government personnel in the field.
Assists the Government Vehicle Control Officer (VCO) by providing training to vehicle operators in proper vehicle operations and day-to-day operator inspections and maintenance. Provide driver training to military personnel on the rules of the road on AASAB.
Monitors closed-circuit TVs (CCTV) to observe base activity.
Disseminates scheduling information to personnel as provided by the Force Protection Flight Chief or NCOIC.
Perform all duties related to dispatch, scheduling, Vehicle Control Support, Training and CCTV monitoring.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
Must have knowledge of radio etiquette and be proficient in communicating on land mobile radios.
Must possess computer skills, including Excel, Word, spread sheets, and e-mail.
Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
Previous knowledge of US Air Force and Department of Defense (DoD) security and force protection processes and procedures is desirable
Experience & Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
Two (2) years experience in DOD Force Protection, AFB TOC, security preferred.
Must be US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
Must be proficient in speaking, reading and writing English.
Must be able to obtain Kuwait Visa.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Must be able to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods.
Ability to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, including extreme weather conditions and rudimentary infrastructure may be required.
Work in an austere environment
May be exposed to extreme noise from turbine and jet engine aircraft.
Travel
May be exposed to extreme noise from turbine and jet engine aircraft.
