Job Profile
The purpose of the position is to provide strategic leadership & management of Corporate Security and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) functions in World Vision Lanka (WVL) in line with ministry standards. This includes ensuring the adoption of Corporate Security policies and procedures in compliance with generally accepted international standards and WV Partnership policies, guidelines and standards.
Major Responsibilities
Provide technical oversight to the security focal point(s) in the country
Act as the point of contact for all safety and security related incidents, providing immediate support and coordination during and post incidents, otherwise supported as directed and instructed by the Director Finance & Support Services or Regional Security Director (RSD)
Ensure that safety and security measures are in place with timely updates
Escalate all security related incidents to the management as and when required
Mitigation of operational risks for ministry effectiveness by establishing security systems and mechanisms for institutionalizing an organizational culture and practice of safety and security
Develop Context Risk Rating for the Colombo Office and all Designated Security Zones (DSZs)
Ensure the development, implementation and operationalization of the core security requirements
Establish good network relationships with all related personnel / authorities
Develop and implementing National Office and Area Programmed offices security strategies for the reduction and mitigation of organizational risks
Conduct security information collection and sharing in close coordination programmed staff and security counterparts of other humanitarian organizations, UN agencies and local government authorities
Represent WV at local NGO security forums and ensure information is disseminated as required
Effectively manage Enterprise Risk Management function
Required qualifications, experience & competencies
3 years of relevant professional experience in Risk Management, in Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance Risk management and/or Compliance auditing in international organizations
2 years’ experience in NGO Security Field
Relevant Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Risk Management, or Emergency Management or other management discipline
A good network of contacts in academia, government or humanitarian security fields
Understanding of implementing Core Security Requirements, Minimum Operating Security Standards or equivalent
Working knowledge of security risk assessments, security planning and crisis management within the humanitarian context
Communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to establish effective relationships and influence
Must be able to coordinate work and interface efficiently and effectively with remote locations
Good administrative skills, with effectiveness in developing tasks and managing to achieve target dates
Ability to work in a multicultural, multidenominational setting
Fluency in written and spoken English, Sinhala and Tamil
The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 40% of the time
