The Security Guard provides security services to the Security Unit, while ensuring full compliance with all of UNDP, UNDSS, and Host Government rules and regulations.

Under the overall supervision of the Operations and Services Manager and the direct supervision of the Security Analyst – Security unit, the Security Guard provides reliable and safe security services to the UNDP/PAPP security unit. UNDP/PAPP and security team ensuring highest standards of discretion and integrity, sense of responsibility, excellent knowledge of protocol and security issues. The security guard also demonstrates a client-oriented approach, courtesy, tact and ability to work with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.


UNDP/PAPP is seeking a candidate to fill the position of Security reporting directly to the Security Analyst- Security Unit (on a daily basis) to ensure the highest safety and security to UNDP staff, visitors and assets. This position is related to the administrative activities and management under a Service Contract modality where contract extensions will be conditioned to satisfactory performance evaluations as well as availability of funding. 

Duties and Responsibilities

Functions:
Ensure all UNDP/PAPP security arrangements are in place under the supervision of the SA.
Ensure all security arrangements are in place in case of emergency. 
Provides assistant to all staff of all agencies and visitors to the UNDP building 
Assist SA in all related security requirements when requested.

Ensure all UNDP/PAPP security arrangements are in place under the supervision of the Security Analyst:
Search visitors’ personal bags and physical search if needed. Deny access to anyone carrying a weapon. 
Regular patrolling and inspection of the interior and exterior of the building.
Ensure proper registry of all activities at the daily handover book.
Ensure proper registry of UN car movements after working hours and during weekends.
Guards to maintain all security equipment and ensure a good working conditions for all security equipment.
Ensure all security arrangements are in place in case of emergency:
Ensure VHF radio base functional and implement a daily radio check with DSS.
Maintain direct contact with Security Analyst to inform about any related security incident or information.
Implement proper vehicle search at the vehicle entrance.
Conduct VBIED security inspection of vehicles entering the car park.
Provides assistant to all staff of all agencies and visitors to the UNDP building:
Deal in respectful way with staff and visitors.
Implement UNDP/PAPP proper access procedures, pass and ID system.
All visitors must enter through a metal detector and all possessions are screened through an x-ray machine. (in the absence of this equipment, a scan by utilizing a hand-held wand and visual inspection of possessions will take place.
Assist Security Analyst in all related security requirements when requested:
Be prepared to work in shifts and double shifts if required.
Assist the Security Analyst in administrative related tasks if requested.
Replace the Security Analyst in his absence if required. 
Any other tasks that may be required

Required Skills and Experience
Education: 

Secondary education completed. 

Experience: 
3 years experience in security related position is preferred. 
Prior experience with the UN system or an international NGO is desirable.

Language Requirements: 
Arabic, Hebrew and working knowledge in English
