Job description
We are currently recruiting for our client, a major oil & gas company, a Control Room Supervisor to work on nights and a rotational basis in Afungi, Mozambique for a 12 months renewable contract.
Rotation: 28 calendar days on location followed by 28 days off
COVID rule: 56 calendar days on location followed by 28 days off or otherwise as instructed by company
You will be mentoring and training local Staff in order to develop in-country skills. The Control Room Supervisor (CRS) will support the Northern Mozambique Security Manager.
Responsibility: to ensure that the company has monitoring/oversight of vehicular and personnel movement in and around the Afungi Camp, and geographic area.
• Coordinate information as supplied to ensure site safety and security.
• Act as liaison in an emergency involving any AMA1 personnel or contractor, on or off site, initiating any Emergency Response as required.
• Manage the various Control Room functions of Transport, Security, External Patrols and Radio Operator to ensure a cohesive and interlinked picture development to support the project and the security department.
• Report on ongoing situations and Emergency Response actions taken to Management.
Activities:
Adhering to an HSE system and ensuring all work carried out is 100% safety compliant in terms of the 12 golden rules
• Creating and promoting a safety culture at all levels and in all areas of works carried out by Security related projects.
• Responsible for maintaining Security procedures in the control room as well as managing the staff assigned to the control room in order to execute their daily functions correctly.
• Daily, weekly and Monthly reporting on the various objectives and issues faced by the Control room.
• In conjunction with the Security Systems Engineer, assure that all security systems are maintained and functioning.
• Implement Vehicle/Driving Procedures and Communications Plan, reporting any shortfalls to the relevant management.
• Coordinate with other departments to promote information flow and ensure delivery so that managers are aware of developments.
• Act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) with respect to all incoming emergency calls, coordinate and facilitate response as required, and as appropriate to the situation.
• Maintain alignment with Corporate Crisis and Emergency Management Plans and Systems.
• Ensure that all Equipment and posts are functioning and executing their respective duties daily.
Candidates' profile:
• Fluent in English as a spoken Language
• Fluent in Portuguese as a spoken language
• No Criminal record
• Basic computer skills, Experience on Windows System
• Have a basic s high school diploma
• Preferably have a military or Police background.
• Preferably have a control room and logistics background.
• Have experience working with Military and Police personnel.
• Valid driver’s License
• Valid passport
