Position Overview:
The Senior Armorer is responsible for the overall monitoring, testing, repair, oversight, and inventory of all weapons and weapon-related items at the OCONUS training facility.
Primary Duties ad Responsibilities:
Responsible for the overall operations of the armory which includes scheduling work to be performed, completing all required reports, and supervising Contractor armorers.
Report to the Department weapons program officer from DS/PSP/DEAV for all work-related technical activities when responsible for maintenance of U.S. Government weapons.
Maintain open communications with DS/PSP/DEAV Armory for all work-related technical activities when responsible for maintenance of U.S. Government weapons.
Repair and maintain all TO weapons
Certified by a Government agency or manufacturer to operate and maintain crew-served weapons
Responsible for the installation of special technical equipment for Department weapons, including, but not limited to:
S. Government-provided optical devices
Flashlights
Grenade launchers
Night vision equipment
Laser sights
Less-Than-Lethal devices
Responsible for test firing all weapons systems as required in the performance of their duties, on a case-by-case basis, and with approval by the DS/IP/OPO COR. Test firing shall be conducted in coordination with a BFFOC-certified firearms instructor.
Required Skills
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Obtain and maintain a Personnel Security Clearance/Public Trust determination/Overseas Vetting, as required by the TO. Personnel Security Clearance/Public Trust determinations, or Overseas Vetting may not be required as specified in the TO (i.e. TO performance may not require obtaining a Government vetting process).
Must possess a minimum of four (4) years of military (MOS 2111, 45 Bravo, or equivalent) or law enforcement armorer experience.
Must possess a minimum of one (1) year of armory supervisory experience.
