The TMR group is currently looking for a UXO Safety/Quality Officer for our project in Iraq!
Primary Functions: Responsible for ensuring adherence to Company and Client safety and quality directives and assisting the Compliance Manager in issuing and revising new or existing safety and quality-related documents. Actively supports and upholds the Company’s ESSQ Policy.

Essential Functions/Duties:
• Implements the Quality Management Plan (QMP) for all HMA and IEDD related operations.
• Implements the Health, Safety, and Environment Plan (HSE) for all HMA and IEDD related operations.
• Conducts and documents quality control audits of all HMA/IEDD operations for compliance with Tetra Tech HMA SOP’s, IMAS, and established procedures.
• Identifies, documents, reports, and verifies the completion of all corrective actions, thus ensuring all HMA/IEDD operations comply with Tetra Tech HMA SOP’s and IMAS requirements.
• Analyzes operational risks, explosive hazards, and safety requirements.
• Establishes and ensures compliance with all site-specific HMA/IEDD SOP’s, and safety/quality requirements.
• Enforces personnel limits and safety exclusion zones for explosives related operations. Conducts, documents, and reports the results of safety inspections to ensure compliance with all applicable explosives safety policies, standards, regulations, and codes.
• Operates and maintains various monitoring, testing, and sampling equipment required at sites known or suspected for hazardous material.
• Ensures all protective works and equipment used within the hazard area are operated in compliance with Tetra Tech HMA SOP’s and IMAS.
• Provides advice on technical matters dealing with explosives/ordnance safety requirements.
• Develops or recommends explosives safety policy and quality assurance plans to higher levels of management.
• Implements the Tetra Tech safety program to reduce the frequency, severity, and cost of accidents, injuries, and fatalities.
• Oversees the identification of ordnance and examining procedures and methods for its disposal.
• Inspects and evaluates workplaces, processes, or products for compliance with established standards and to identify potential new explosives safety hazards and threats.
• Designs or modifies workplaces, processes, or products to minimize or eliminate explosives safety hazards and threats.
• Oversees the training of all site personnel in the various aspects of their specific position to include, but not limited to, explosives safety, ordnance identification, and emergency response training.
Job Requirements:
• Graduate of a recognized EOD/UXO school and hold an IMAS EOD 3+ or equivalent qualification. Have eight years or more prior military EOD/IEDD and or commercial UXO/IEDD experience in all phases of munitions response, HMA activities, and IEDD experience as appropriate for the contracted operation.
• Meet the minimum qualification standards for personnel performing IEDD related operations in accordance with IMAS T&EP 09.31/01/20.
• Must hold a valid and active US Secret Clearance.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must be available to work outside the normal schedule as required by the needs of the company.
• Ability to work in harsh working conditions, outdoors, and/or in extreme temperatures.
• Ability to work in a remote and potentially austere location for up to six months.
• Must be willing to deploy OCONUS.
• Must be capable of traversing rugged terrain for extended periods of time (8 plus hours per day).
• Must be able to pass a physical approving the candidate for overseas work.
• Able to proficiently operate a computer including using Microsoft Office software.
• 40 HR Hazwoper Certification.
• 8 HR Hazwoper Certification (If applicable).
• 30 HR OSHA Construction Safety and Health.
