Job Summary
The ACCOM ATC Specialist, Radar Watch Supervisor is responsible for the safe and expeditious flow of air traffic within their designated control airspace in accordance with ICAO and FAA 7110.65 regulatory guidance. Rules of separation must be applied to achieve the required separation as outlined in FAA manuals and orders.
Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
Designee maintains situational awareness of the overall flow of air traffic operations at the facility assigned and is responsible for all ATC facility operations and services during their shift.
Responsible for the safe, orderly flow of air traffic within their designated airspace.
Designee coordinates with various controllers and personnel to relay information which pertains to the aircraft and in the interest of safety of flight including emergency information.
Designee will be aware of radar or control tower operations within the facility and apply the required separation of aircraft. Along with controlling aircraft the designee must be able to process flight plans, develop and supervise approach and departure procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge of processing flight plans, developing and supervising approach and departure procedures.
Must have full working knowledge of RADAR/Manual approach control operations, control tower and flight planning.
Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
Knowledge of ATC rules, regulations, and techniques; control tower and approach control operations.
Effective oral and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office software
Experience & Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Graduate of an approved DoD or FAA Air Traffic Control (ATC) course.
Five (5) years of relevant experience.
One (1) year of experience must be from performing in a like type of facility.
Shall hold one of the following radar certifications (ATCS certificate, FAA Credential, FAA or DoD training records).
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions
Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
