Basic Functions:
Working closely with the Security Manager the position holder will support security management in the South Sudan office and will be responsible for threat, vulnerability and risk assessments, security analysis, security networking and security management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Collect, collate and analyze security threat information.
Provide timely situation assessments and recommendations for action during security incidents.
Conduct security risk assessments in assigned area to determine risk levels for personnel and operations.
Prepare daily and weekly security reports covering significant security-related incidents and provide analysis of how each event impacts the overall safety and security of personnel and operations.
Prepare and deliver security briefings for movements.
Journey manage all office movements.
Prepare security reports to update personnel on major security developments and their potential impact on operations.
Establish and sustain close working relationships with managers and field-based personnel to exchange security information and provide advice.
Collaborate with office lead to analyze and interpret context monitoring data and implementation monitoring data generated from FHI 360’s complexity-aware monitoring system.
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes:
Demonstrated knowledge of security analysis and risk assessments or physical security or security operations and planning.
Fluent English language speaker and knowledge of indigenous languages.
Strong spoken and written communications.
A strong customer service focus and ability to build and maintain trusting client relationships in a multicultural environment.
Work productively in a small team environment as well as individually.
Must be comfortable in operating in a high stress environment requiring short deadlines and be able to provide reasoned and immediate advice and assistance during emergencies.
Availability to work on emergency situations during off- hours.
Experience working in close partnership with programs and operations teams to deliver services within complex environments.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Degree or certificate related to security.
At least two years’ security experience directly related to South Sudan.
Previous work experience in a security or logistics role at an INGO.
Previous military/law enforcement experience will be preferred.
