Scope: 
The SAR Medic shall be utilized to provide search and rescue, medical, security, and quick reaction force to support assigned program. The SAR Medic will integrate with the team, meet all training standards, and will follow all team policies and procedures as directed by the SAR Medic Supervisor. All services shall be provided in accordance with established standards, principles and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which CHSi is recognized.

Duties: 
The primary responsibilities of the SAR Medic include the following:
SAR Medic will maintain a positive professional relationship with colleges, flight crew and support personnel.
All SAR Medics will support the SAR Medic Supervisor in daily activities within their assigned duties.

All SAR Medics Shall have the skills and ability to perform:

Medical support as a SAR medic during CASEVAC.
Immediate Assessment and treatment of traumatic life-threatening injury.
Advance Airway Management
Advance Invasive Procedures
Endotracheal intubation
Familiarity with prolonged field care and pharmacology
Knowledge/administering of medications
Duties within their scope of practice as dictated by their license.
Conduct and maintain logistical operations as related to the SAR Team
Ability in assessing OCONUS regional/local medical treatment capabilities and developing and implementing CASEVAC plans and procedures
Understand the complexities of security, patrolling and light infantry tactics in relation to Search & Rescue operations in a high-threat environment.
Ability to carry and operate small weapon systems.
Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

Must have a minimum of 5 years’ Special Operational experience in the following U.S. Military Specialties: USAF Pararescueman (1T2XX), US Army Special Forces Medic (18-D), US Army Ranger Medic (68W-W1), U.S. Navy MARSOC Corpsman (SARC/SOIDC), U.S Navy SEAL Medic or similar roles.

Requirements:
High School diploma, GED or equivalent education required
Hold and maintain a current and unrestricted U.S. (State) Paramedic license OR Certification as a Paramedic by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMTP) is required. A Higher Medical Degree with Board Certification (RN, BSN, PA-C, NP, MD, and DO) may also be accepted.
Must hold and maintain current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and must be proficient in Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), Required to certify in TCCC or other advance trauma course within 12 months of hire (TCCC, ITLS or PHTLS).
Certification as a Flight Paramedic from the International Board of Specialty Certification (IBSC) is desirable.
Completion of Critical Care Emergency Medical Transport Program (CCEMTP) or other Critical Care Training course and certification desirable.
Must have at least 6 of the last 12 months working in a direct patient care setting.
Knowledge of advanced assessment and diagnosis.
Experience in wound care to include anesthesia and suturing.
Knowledge of advanced treatment modalities including chest tube thoracotomy, IV/IO access procedures, and blood transfusion protocols
Knowledge of general sick call procedures, clinic functions and material inventory principles.
Familiarity with standard policies (HIPPA), practices, and procedures within the medical care field.

Other Requirements:
Must have a valid, current U.S. Driver’s License
Must have a current U.S. Passport.
Defense Security Services clearance at a level of Secret is required.
Will sign Foreign Service Agreement (FSA) and is bound to the terms and conditions of the FSA.
Shall be proficient in the ability to speak, write and communicate in English.
Travel to and between CONUS and OCONUS locations is required.
Performs duties in a safe manner, follows the corporate safety policy.
Participates and supports safety meetings, training and goals.
Ensures safe operating conditions within area of responsibility.
Maintains a clean and orderly work area.

Physical Requirements:
No conditions that would prevent the wear of personal protective equipment; including protective mask, ballistic helmet, body armor and chemical/biological protective garments or conditions that would prevent the capability of donning, lifting or carrying of up to 70 lbs. of referenced gear while running to a bunker or protected area in the face of perceived or imminent danger.
Capable of responding to a wide variety of operational circumstances, under extreme weather conditions, within a hostile environment
May be exposed to extreme noise from aircraft, hostile fire, and other acts of aggression associated with this region
May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and work in close proximity to moving mechanical parts, aircraft, and vehicles
Required to kneel, bend, sit and lift heavy objects for extended periods of time
Must be confirmed by a medical examination to be “medically and dentally fit” in accordance CHS Medical Readiness Guidelines and Policies and/or as dictated by the Client.
Will be required to work and live in a potentially hostile environment, at remote locations, and under austere conditions
Must attend and successfully complete weapons qualification, security training, psychological assessment and High Threat - Counter-terrorism training prior to deployment
