Operations Security Manager (EU National)- Libya

In the framework of a project based in Libya, GEOS is looking for an Operations Security Manager- EU National.

This position is available immediately.

The Operations Manager will be highly-experienced in security/mobile protection operations at a managerial position; he will be able to assume supervision, logistical support, and if applicable direct command and control of both the static and mobile operations (with limited supervision if necessary). He/she shall have proven experience of working in an international volatile environment.

He must be available at all times during planning and missions to receive and implement instructions from the Project Manager (PM). He plans Close Protection Teams and Static Teams activities and oversee the implementation of the task.

Scope of responsibilities
Plan and coordinate the mobile and static operations and allocated resources
Assist the PM with internal training activities
Act as primary accountant for goods and assets allocated to security operations (weapons, vehicles)
Coordinate the activities of the Close Protection teams and Static Security teams to ensure that they provide a professional and discreet service
Supervise the operation and servicing of technical systems used in the scope of security operations (radio- and sat-communication, tracking systems)
Lead the day to day work of the operations room and coordinate immediate response to security incidents

Nature of the position

The Operations Manager will act under direct guidance of the PM.

Qualifications & skills
Degree, certificate or diploma in Management or other equivalent military or police training relevant to the post, or equivalent combination of education, training and practical experience, preferably with a substantial part of it in security and/ or crisis management
In both cases, professional experience must demonstrate increasing responsibility at management level of personnel, facilities and assets
English proficiency C1, C2 = Proficient User Level; (Common European Framework of References for Languages) or equivalent;
Certificate of clear criminal record
First Aid qualified
Radio operating procedures and qualified to effectively operate all communications equipment
Experience with International Institutions
Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage

General professional experience
Total professional experience of minimum 8 years, of which minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a management position in an international hostile mission environment; (International is defined as a country outside the home nation(s) of the applicant)

Specific professional experience
Experience in coordination of logistics and training
Experience in Close Protection – for minimum of 3 years of which at least 1 year has been in a non-military environment
Experience in management of personnel of minimum 10 people
Previous experience of working in Libya is desirable.
