Maintenance Surveillance Technician
The Maintenance Surveillance Technician will be based at one of two PAE sites in Iraq and serve the Operations and Maintenance Support Services (OMSS) contract in support of the U.S. Department of State. This position will report to the Site Services Manager. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.
DUTIES:
• Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
• Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals. Provide information and materials to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.
• Analyze drawings and specifications to identify security vulnerabilities (technical and/or physical) and associated threats.
• Perform in-depth investigations to anomalies which pose significant threats and provide recommendations to resolve threats.
• Mitigate threats of clandestine surveillance posed by foreign intelligence.
• Provide critical technical knowledge In Technical Surveillance Countermeasures in support of unique security requirements inherent in SCIF operations including sound attenuation and electric attenuation.
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
REQUIRED:
• Minimum Acceptable Experience Level: Must have at least five (5) years' experience in at least one of the following areas of expertise: Construction security surveillance, Technical Surveillance Countermeasures, Industrial or Government security involving counterintelligence, Construction quality assurance, or hands on supervisory construction experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• The required training for CSTs is the DoS (SE-630) Construction Surveillance Technician Course sponsored by DoS. The following license/certifications may be considered as substitutes for CST Certifications/license: HVAC Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer, and Licensed Plumber with all major utility installation experience.
• Capable of independent decision making, possess a high degree of individual initiative, and be able to function with minimal supervision.
Able to stand for up to 8 hours, work outdoors in summer heat and winter cold, able to walk up to one half mile across uneven surfaces at construction site, able to bend forward at the waist, knees and climb stairs.
• Employment as a CST is subject to taking and successfully passing a blue-print reading pre-test to verify minimum skills in reading drawing/blueprints. The test will be provided by the DS Training Center and must be administered by COR, ACOR, or cognizant training representative at the Diplomatic Security Training Center.
o Knowledge of principles and processes involved in supporting contract responsibilities at an overseas facility.
o Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
o Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective.
o Excellent organizational and time management skills.
o Computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel.
o Ability to become an active and functioning member of a team.
o Ability to be innovative and be an agent for change.
o Expert communication skills to facilitate and disseminate information.
• Education: A high school diploma or GED.
• Licenses and Certifications: Valid drivers’ license from Home of Record.
• Security Vetting: Already possess a US Government issued top secret security clearance or be able to obtain a favorable US Government top secret security clearance prior to being hired is required for the position. Must maintain eligibility at the required clearance level for the duration of the contract.
• Language Skills: Satisfactory English proficiency to meet job requirements and to adhere and comply with safety, health, and security measures.
• Citizenship: Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government issued Top Secret level clearance for the duration of your employment.
• Medical: Successfully complete and pass the medical and dental examinations as required by PAE and our customer for deployment to Iraq. Must maintain physical and dental requirements for duration of deployment.
DESIRED:
• Previous out of home country experience and previous work experience in harsh environmental conditions are a plus.
• Experience working with PAE.
