Paramedic - Australian Embassy, Baghdad

Duty Rotation : 8 weeks on, 4 weeks off subject to operational requirements.

Role Requirements

A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in pre-hospital, remote and acute care.
Fluent in written and spoken English.
Computer literate and competent in Microsoft Office
Nationally Registered as a Paramedic (min – Australian Diploma level), Registered Nurse, Endorsed Enrolled Nurse, EMT-P (AHPRA or HCPC/HCPCSA or FVEYS equivalent professional body)
Current Basic and Advanced Life Support Certificate
Completed Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) Course or equivalent
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in working in remote, complex or operational environments. E.g. NGO, Military, Private Security, Isolated practice
Working with children check and clearance (repatriations)
Health Planning experience.

Desirable skills also include:

Military Medic/Paramedic with operational experience e.g. Advanced Medical Technician, Combat Paramedic, Combat Medical Technician
Experience in extended care, prolonged field care and telemedicine
MIMMS Course certification
Trainer and Assessor qualified e.g. TAE40116
Drug and Alcohol testing qualifications and experience
NV1 or FCO SC Clearance
Protective Security Detail qualifications and experience
Previous experience working in a diplomatic environment
Previous in-country or regional experience in a similar capacity
A working knowledge of Arabic.

Services

Services provided by the Contractor shall be those typically expected for someone in the Position and include, but not be limited to the provision of medical support to ensure the safety and security of all client staff and other personnel who come under duty of care of Australian Embassy, Baghdad. Services the Contractor can expect to carry out, would include: 

Providing advanced medical support for remote locations and regional tasks in high risk environments
Providing direct support to and deploy with CPP teams in the field as required and as directed
Providing high risk medical mission planning
Medical facility assessments and report writing
Assisting Registered Nurse with day to day clinical duties as required and as directed
Planning and conducting medical related training as required and as directed
Leading or assisting with mass casualty triage and treatment
Leading or assisting with medical administration requirements to include but not restricted to drug and equipment inventory, maintenance and testing
Liaising with other medical professionals and POCs (Points of Contact) as required and as directed
Working under the prescribed and authorised medical guidelines and protocols
Working with the contracted clinical governance advisory provider
Undertaking any other direction or reasonable request given by appropriate GardaWorld Management team in accordance with GW Standard Operating Procedures and Guidelines.
