Corporate Security Manager (Pipeline) , Italy

The Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) AG is a joint venture company established with the purpose of planning, developing, building and operating the TAP natural gas pipeline. TAP’s shareholding is comprised of BP (20%), SNAM (20%), SOCAR (20%), Fluxys (19%), Enagás (16%) and Axpo (5%).

Construction of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline is being been completed, Commissioning is ongoing, and we will soon transport gas for the Southern Gas Corridor. We are looking for our Corporate Security Manager to be based in Melendugno, Italy.

Your Role

Your role as Corporate Security Manager (CSM), directly supports the Corporate Services Director and will lead and manage the Corporate Security for the whole of TAP according to international standards and be the Single Point of Contact (SPoC) for the company’s strategic security matters.

You will be based in Melendugno, and your role will be required to travel regularly to TAP Headquarters in Switzerland, as well as in Greece and Albania whenever required.

In this role you will have the following responsibilities:

Provide international and industrial security risk management advice and guidance, on a weekly, monthly and ad-hoc basis to the Board of Directors, Leadership Team and staff. Continually assess the security situation as it applies to TAP’s activities and make recommendations in line with the current intelligence concerning incidents, local events, personalities, groups, competitors, and situations which may have an impact on TAP.
Lead, direct, and conduct Security Risk Assessments and Security Risk Mitigation implementation. Conduct corporate security investigations, in partnership with Compliance and Legal. Support Corporate QHSE and Countries on Security related matters.
Develop a network of security contacts across the region to facilitate TAP’s activities. Liaise and co-ordinate with government security officials to share security intelligence and assure their support in line with the VPSHR and other international and national security laws, regulations, and conventions.
Develop and maintain relations with TAP in-country security consultants, contractors and sub-contractors.
Produce and update the Corporate Security Policy, Corporate Security Plan, Corporate Security procedures and the Security Risk Register, Security Incident Register, Security Officials Register, and other registers.
Lead the implementation of the VPSHR (Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights) across TAP, our contractors and sub-contractors. Oversee the development and delivery of any related country specific security training.
Approve Security Awareness Campaign activities and products with the Corporate Communications department

Your Profile

At least 15 years of experience in asset and personnel protection of large corporates. Experience as a senior security professional in a ‘client’ organisation within Oil and Gas industry / large linear infrastructure / construction projects or heavy industry would be ideal.
Strong background in military, police, law enforcement or intelligence services at a senior level.
Experience of working in complex environments with multiple stakeholders, local stakeholders, regulators, public officials, communities, government agencies, etc. Preference for Southern Europe / Balkans expertise.
Experience with the management of business relationships with private security providers, state security forces and communities.
University degree in a relevant (social science or similar) subject
Proficient in IT/data applications including MS Office suite
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English language. Ideally you are fluent in Italian as well, Greek and Albanian an advantage
