Responsibilities:

Corporate Security's Training Instructor will be a part of the Operational Support (GCSOS) team, delivering training and exercise programs for staff from various units and locations on a broad range of security topics. The Training Instructor will drive the implementation of GCSOS’s learning strategy with a focus on the delivery of a core curriculum for all WBG staff regardless of an individual’s geographic location.

The Training Instructor will remain informed on a variety of knowledge management practices through the WBG, in order to inform Unit staff and external clients of the resources and systems available and support a variety of deliveries. The focus for this position will primary be the Africa region however there will be opportunities to support deliveries in a variety of locations around the globe.

Strategic Training and Awareness

Would you like to prepare individual World Bank Group staff for travel around the globe and provide them with the tools necessary to stay safe regardless of where they are? We are looking for someone to ensure the readiness of World Bank Group staff to tackle a variety of incidents, by providing such staff with the tools necessary to prepare for any number of events; respond to a variety of events; and recover from such events. Specific deliverables include:
Coordinate, research and employ appropriate methodologies in training and communications in order to execute training programs that contribute to GCSOS’s overall security awareness outreach to staff and management.
Support in the development of new products and deliver both routine and complex training products, as well as addressing needs identified by stakeholders, alongside other Training team members.
Deliver training modules as and when required, with a focus on the three Africa regions’ needs.
Work alongside the Lead Trainers to support the delivery of multiple programs and the scheduling thereof.
Work alongside the Training Developer to identify areas for improvement and expansion of all GCSSC training programs; organize events related to GCSSC for internal and external audiences (monthly safety awareness briefings, posters, internal social media updates; etc).
Ensure the effectiveness, quality and responsiveness of learning programs and activities by analyzing current activities, monitoring their use and measuring their impact. Incorporate evaluation results from surveys to improve learning activities.
Collaborate with WBG internal and external stakeholders, partners and sponsors to deliver learning activities.
Support logistics related to GCSSC Training Team activities, including events, trainings and publication.
Advise on learning development, design, marketing, implementation and evaluation including the use of technology.
Provide regular update to the unit on the status and capability of the program, highlighting issues and achievements.
Day to day reporting will be made directly to the Lead Trainer on the ground in Nairobi.

Selection Criteria

This role requires you to be able to demonstrate success in the delivery of several prescribed programs and encouraging a positive culture of innovation.

A Bachelor’s degree in Knowledge Management Development, Learning Development or related field and minimum of 5 years relevant experience, is preferred. Familiarity with the WBG’s Fragile, Conflict and Violence countries, is preferred.

Specific requirements include:
Experience with design, organization and implementation of knowledge sharing, learning activities and learning plans.
Ability to gather and organize information and to synthesize knowledge from diverse sources of information.
Proven ability to deliver projects and activities on time.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, (French an advantage) and ability to produce quality work under tight deadlines; ability to organize, edit and draft a variety of documents.
Ability to write concise summaries.
Strong team player.
Skill to deal sensitively in multicultural environments and build effective working relations with staff across the WBG.
Proficiency in program management, including crafting, planning and implementing knowledge-related initiatives, collaborating with other teams and facilitating programs and events involving knowledge management and knowledge creation.
