Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is looking for a solutions orientated individual who has the security management knowledge and experience to become our Regional Security Manager for Asia-Pacific, based out of Singapore or Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The position will report into the Security Director for the Eastern Hemisphere, whilst working closely with their peers across the HSSEA function to oversee and ensure the execution of the company security strategy within Asia-Pacific and ensuring that security risks to personnel and assets are effectively managed. Working closely with the Regional Leadership teams the individual will advise them on the political and security trends and events that affect Wood operations, as well as;
Providing input security planning considerations for work in Medium, high and extreme risk locations
Undertaking of security risk assessments of company sites
Compiling the country and contract-level security plans and procedures to mitigate the security risks to staff and
Implementing all Group Security-related programmes, including crisis and emergency response
This is a leadership position which carries significant influence and decision-making responsibilities for the Asia Pacific and wider Eastern Hemisphere security strategy.
Skills / Qualifications
Extensive experience in security and emergency/crisis management in multinational companies
Associate Degree or equivalent degree from an accredited university (preferred)
Certificate in Security Management/Terrorism Studies/Emergency Management/Investigations
Fluent written and verbal English language skills
Proficiency to speak, read, and write fluently in a second language relevant to the region of responsibility (preferred)
Frequent travel is a key component of this role as is the need to be flexible and responsive to the needs of the business within the region
Ability to obtain Security Clearances.
Knowledge, skills and experience:
Leadership experience within security or security-related roles, preferably within an internal company in the resource/energy/engineering sectors
Strong understanding of the procurement of security services
Extensive knowledge of the geopolitical environment and cultural awareness of Asia-Pacific
Knowledge of Security and Emergency Management industry best practices
Deep knowledge and experience in ;
Risk management
Incident response
Contracting process
Travel security
Executive protection
Investigation procedures
Execution Plans
Demonstrable experience working in at least three countries within Asia Pacific
Communicating and conducting presentations to senior executives and clients.
