Base Defense Compliance Specialist , Iraq

Primary Function

To provide direct support to Base Defense Compliance Manager in the execution of Base Defense Compliance Program for Balad Air Base that fully supports the Base Defense Plan (BDP) and Performance of Work Statement (PWS).  Compliance with the relevant sections of ISO 18788 'Management Systems for Private Security Operations' is an important part of the scope.

Responsibilities

Support the Base Defense Compliance Manager by execution of tasks that support the Base Defense Compliance program by routine observation / surveillance of training, OJT and mentoring activities by Sallyport Mentor Department on Balad Air Base. Observations and assessments to include: Response Force and Tower Mentor personnel, Static Guards, Flight Line Static and Mobile Security personnel, PSD/SET teams to IqAF and other Sallyport security personnel.
Conduct compliance observations regarding Security matters to include identification of critical information / data with a focus on security vulnerabilities.
Document / compile compliance report following a Security Assessment.
Disseminate updated Base Defense Compliance information to Base Defense Compliance Manager and / or Deputy Manager.
Remain up to date with emerging Security threats and vulnerabilities that may adversely impact the program and apply this to observations / assessments.
Employ sound compliance principles in performance of duties and apply these to support management of the contract IAW DoD and relevant AFI/AR publications.
Collaborate with Base Defense Compliance Deputy Manager to ensure sound training / OJT / Mentoring is being performed in line with Sallyport Master Training Plan, Sallyport training material, the PWS, US DOD and relevant AFI/AR publications.
Carry out other duties and tasks within the broad scope of this position.

Job Requirements

Essential to have at least 10 years of verifiable experience in USAF Security Forces Operations, or equivalent relevant experience.
Prefer 10 years military experience, ideally at rank of Non-Commissioned Officer (E5 E6).
Desirable to have at least 1 years' experience as Civilian Contractor in Middle East, especially in role that included supervisory management.
Prefer:  Operational experience in Middle East or other High Threat Environment.
Must obtain and maintain final SECRET security clearance to work with classified information and material, IAW DOD 5220.22 and NISPOM.
Must have extensive experience in Joint or Combined Operations in a military or civilian environment.  Extensive knowledge of weaponry, directives, programs, policies and training governing Security Forces activities. 
Awareness of security concepts and work to standards such as Balad Air Base Performance of Work Statement (PWS).
Prefer:  Diploma or Associate Degree.
 

Preferred Qualifications

Prior USAF Security Forces NCO with extensive experience in supervising or performing functions such as weapons systems, Combat Arms, Base Defense Security Operations and training.
Good people skills, communications skills and ability to create and maintain positive working relationships.
Possess strong analytical skills with ability to persuade / advise senior decision-makers on technical matters.
Highly developed administrative and IT skills, including maintenance of records (digital and paper).
Excellent eye for detail and strict adherence to approved process' and procedures.
Consistently demonstrate integrity, trustworthiness loyalty and commitment.
Understanding of cultural factors and sensitivities when working with Iraqi Military and Iraqi civilian co-workers.
Willing to be flexible regarding hours and respond quickly to time sensitive or urgent requirements. 
Ability to work in harsh climatic conditions, austere living conditions with the potential for an element of danger.
