Training Manager , Niger

We are looking for an experienced person to join our team as a Training Manager based in Niamey. This person must be mobile in the two regions covered by an organization in NIGER, which are Tillaberi / Tahoua & Diffa / Maradi. The TM will be asked to work in close collaboration on the establishment of the training center in the West Africa region.

Job overview:
Under the responsibility and supervision of the Country Director, and with the technical support of the training department based at headquarters, the-the Training Manager (TM) Niger will implement the training activities offered by Organization to its partners. The following modules are included in the 2020 strategy:

- Introduction to good practices
- Security management for NGOs, basic level
- Security management for NGOs, advanced level
- Travel security
- Crisis management
- Humanitarian negotiations

He/she will facilitate training, participate in the assembly of new modules, guarantee the content delivered, supervise the registration of candidates, conduct the assessment of partners' needs and ensure the implementation of the system for evaluating the quality of the training delivered. according to the framework proposed by the organization.

Main responsibilities
I) IMPLEMENTATION OF TRAINING
Facilitate or co-facilitate training sessions: The Training Manager will facilitate or co-facilitate ten training sessions of 2 days each on average between September and the end of 2020.
Appropriate existing training modules: know how to facilitate them, suggest improvements or adaptation to the local context.
Participate in the training of trainers in humanitarian negotiations (set up by organization in Mali in 2020), if the requested donors support the initiative.

II) ORGANIZATION OF TRAINING ACTIVITIES

Set up and support the organization Niger training team:
- Recruit, structure and support its newly formed team (a Training Officer, a Training Assistant).
- Implement the defined training strategy, manage the team, coordinate with the support departments of  Niger, guarantee the quality of all training activities, monitor the activity's budget.
Evaluate the quality of services and the needs of partners:
- Set up quality surveys.
- Evaluate the needs and expectations of partners.

Job requirements
Fluent French compulsory, ability to exchange in English welcome;
Significant experience in the humanitarian sector;
Experience in the design, development and delivery of field training in the humanitarian context;
Established skills in project management and team management;
Understanding of humanitarian principles and practices;
Willingness to work in insecure countries.

Terms and conditions

12-month contract with a start date scheduled for September 1, 2020, € 4,550 of salary per month, 4 days of annual leave per month, and 7 days of R&R every 3 months, comprehensive medical cover and death/disability insurance.
