The Role:
Scope of Work
Accountabilities
To provide, operate, and maintain "best practice‟ safety and security strategies and systems for Company General Services division.
To provide safety and Security reporting and improvement of these safety and security systems.
To implement Safety and Security improvement initiatives, to achieve set goals in Company HSEQ management system.
Monitor and managing contractor Activates to support the site/location-based specifically requirements
Provide support for Incident Management - Emergency Response, Reporting, Classification, Investigation & Closeout Assurance.
Work with our internal and external stakeholders and our contract partners to maintain an active contractor safety forum.
Will Lead the safety and security guards, for the whole Corporate tower, including QP offices.
Job Dimensions
Reporting directly to the GS Head of safety and security.
Deputize the Head and Security in Liaising and Coordinating With HSEQ Department for Safety and Security aspects and requirements.
General Services Emergency management Team member.
Supervise a security team of 28 guards during the three shifts.
Safety
The Safety Officer is responsible for monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations.
Correct unsafe acts or conditions through the regular line of authority.
May exercise emergency authority to prevent or stop unsafe acts when immediate action is required.
The Safety Officer maintains awareness of current and developing situations.
Ensures there are safety messages in each Incident Action Plan.
Participate in planning meetings to identify any health and safety concerns inherent in the operations daily work-plan.
Review the Incident Action Plan for safety implications.
Verifies that all tools and equipment are adequate and safe for use.
Promotes safe practices at the job site.
Enforces safety guidelines.
Trains and carries out drills and exercises on how to manage emergencies.
Conducts investigations of all accidents and near-misses.
Responds to employees' safety concerns.
Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy.
Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management.
Carry out PTW Monitoring and review.
Monitor and update the safety e-observation system by providing statistical updates and follow up on closeout actions.
Security
The practical implementing of the Company Facilities Security Procedures.
To manage and provide effective leadership to the Corporate Tower Security Contractor.
Contractor security operations documentation is up to date for use by all on-site security personnel to cover duties; individual instructions for each post; attendance; use of security equipment; dress standard; training etc.
All physical security to all on-site positions is delivered as outlined in Contractor Service Agreements
Reporting any security breaches and incidents.
Incident Free
Supporting the Duty to Intervene Campaign.
Deeply embed a strong incident-free culture by role modelling safety behaviors and taking corrective action wherever necessary.
Organizing, as and when required, IF training and engagement sessions.
Profile Required
NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent with demonstrable recent successful, relevant experience in a similar role.
Demonstrable excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively even during times of pressure or emergency.
Good report writing skills.
The ability to work independently as well as effectively in a team in Health and Safety related job requirements.
Strong interpersonal and English communication skills - verbal and written
Capable of working in an international and multicultural environment
Understanding of the Incident Investigation and Learning process.
Excellent computer skills including MS Office
Good knowledge of electronic reporting systems.
Degree (or direct equivalent, or relevant industry experience) in HSE and Security preferred.
Minimum 5-8 years of relevant safety and security experience preferably in high rise buildings
