Position Summary: The LEP TAAC and TF Police Advisor I shall work in support of the U.S. military’s advise, assist, mentor and train (AAM&T) mission. Serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in gang control/suppression, kidnapping, organized crime and crime networks, controlled substance organizations, international money laundering, counter terrorism and/or public corruption. The mission is to continue development of the Afghan National Police (ANP) operational effectiveness sufficiently enough to sustain security operations of Afghanistan and to hold Key Terrain Districts that set conditions for long term development of the economy, RoL and other functions of Afghan governance. The PAT will maintain an operational and strategic linkage with developing ANP, facilitate ANP leadership to sustain the lead for security operations, provide support to enablers and access to joint fires and instill confidence that ANP can maintain the populace secure. The LEPs support the PAT in their mission to mentor, train and develop the Afghan Police Forces. The LEP positions will be located in TAAC-East, TAAC-South, TF5 Southeast and TF Southwest. The TAACs/TFs will determine actual location within the TAACs but keep the LEP COTR/TM advised on all planned LEP movement
Essential Functions:
The Police Advisor Team (PAT) member is a seasoned law enforcement officer who supports the PAT Commander by directly advising Senior Afghan National Police Officials
Mentor and train senior officials and staffs of the Afghan National Police, Execute the guidance and direction of supported U.S. personnel in matters related to LEP, mentoring/training activities
Attend all KLEs and meetings that the designated U.S. Military OIC(s) requests his presence in order to provide expertise
Non-Essential Functions:
Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned according to the needs of the customer/client
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be eligible for North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)-Secret access
Experience gained as a sworn member of a municipal, county, state or non-DoD federal LE or member of a municipal, county, state, or federal Corrections agency
Written communication skills to allow the LEP personnel to prepare written reports, information papers and other required correspondence
Verbal communications skills to allow the LEP personnel to effectively deliver briefings and communicate related training to a diverse audience
Strong computer literacy skills, focusing on the Microsoft suite of applications
Minimum of twenty (20) years LE or Corrections experience (and specific experience as listed below for Investigative, Ministerial, or Corrections LEPs)
Must have a Top Secret (TS) Clearance, and suitable for employment in a billet cleared to TS/ Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Select LEPs will be required to have SCI Eligibility
