Deputy Project Manager - Balad Iraq

Primary Function

Provides management and support to assigned sites and personnel within their areas for fulfillment of program and customer objectives. Actively support and uphold the Company's stated vision, mission, and values.

Responsibilities
Oversee the operations and activities of Human Resources, Finance, SubContract Administration, Fire Department, Project Controls and Budgeting, Quality Management, Health & Safety, and Information Technologies. Lead and mentor the team's performance and ensure on-time response to project deliverables and strive for customer/client satisfaction.
Provide guidance to Project Tier 1 Management and maintain accountability to project and Company expectations.
Provide summary of responsible activities to the Project Manager to enable positive decision making and correct reporting of information to the Government and Corporate Stakeholders.
Assist the Project Manager as needed.
The Deputy Project Manager is expected to back-fill (temporary & interim) the Project Manager position's roles and responsibilities in the absence of the Project Manager.
Interface with the US Government, Customers, Clients, and Iraqi Leadership as needed.
Oversee and maintain accountability of personnel, property, and equipment at assigned sites;
Provide expert operational and administrative advice to senior leadership and site management;
Ensure health, safety, welfare, development, and appropriate training of all assigned employees;
Conduct site visits to develop and facilitate positive, effective relationships with internal and external customers;
Collaborate with program staff (on site and off site) to ensure timely and accurate execution of contractual requirements, data gathering, and performance reporting;
Provide leadership, training, and development to instill a culture of continuous improvement and high performance within assigned sites and functional areas;
Develop and conduct briefings and presentations to senior leadership and US / Iraqi government representatives;
Ensure personnel adhere to host, company, federal, state, and Sallyport mandated laws, regulations, and requirements;
Proven verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills with ability to lead, coach, and supervise a team;
Ability to gather research and analyze events, metrics, data, and write reports;
Ability to exercise discretion and make effective decisions.
Other duties as assigned by management



Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university; may substitute two (2) additional years of relevant experience for each year of college;
Minimum ten (10) years of experience in U.S. military contracting, or similar work with at least eight (8) years in a leadership role;
Prefer prior experience working with diverse cultures and various trade skills in deployed, hazardous environment;
Knowledge of U.S. Air Force operations and contracting support in contingency environment;
Ability to analyze technical problems, their impact to the business, and create solutions suitable for current and future business environments.
Must be a US citizen
